Description
We are back with another Light and Vanellope drawing because I don't draw nearly enough of this pet and owner duo! Ah the molt. A strange yet magical experience for the young Phoenix kind to endure. Where a Phoenix comes of age and strips away to become big, bold, and beautiful! Yes it is natural for these birds to go through this but none can compare to when it happens the very first time. Vanellope is no exception to this odd yet wonderful coming of age story. See it's apart of their nature to endure this and even though it was her first molt, it felt almost natural as to what was happening. It appears though nobody gave Light the memo of this wonderful transformation and was in quite the state of shock to one day find her colorful companion now bald.

Now as if things couldn't get any "worse" Light totally panicked she did something wrong and didn't properly care for her beloved companion and spent the whole day trying to hide it from her parents. And as Vanellope's state got "worse", Light grew more with worry until she finally came to terms that this was above her control and needed help. Well if you watched "A Bird in Hoof" episode, we know what happens when the last fathers falls. Light's face was so mortified at the sight of her pets ashes, she fainted for a couple of moments due to the crazy stunts of that day. Celestia had to hold herself together as she explained to Light the Phoenix's life cycle and nature. Needless to say, Vanellope's first molt was a memory that will stick with Light for a long time.
