I got the idea for this when I was in Arizona over Christmas. The chunks that the jumping cholla would spit off looked like spikey snoots from a distance.The blue crab is Tea Biscuit. He's actually much bigger than snoot in real life. And if it doesn't read well, cholla snoot does pop the ball by touching it. Poor snoot.

Yeah, Cholla look fuzzy and soft, but as my neighbor's dog found out the hard way, that "fuzz" is a bunch or razor sharp stabby things. With barbs on the end. And some kind of vengeance against mankind.

I don't know much about cactuses, but i learned quite about chollas. Snoot makes for a great cholla! I'm sure he appreciates the hug.

That's funny. My friend didn't like the way this comic ended, so she made an alternative ending where a cholla tea biscuit comes along and they play with a rock. Although I bet a plastic hard ball would work too!
