I have a question how would u go on creating waves?

I actually don't know. This technique doesn't really easily lead into making waves as well, and I haven't worked much with Gimp in several years, so I never picked up on a way to do so

This was very useful, I made the water for my recent lineart coloring:[link]

Very beautiful and useful! Quick question: Is there any way to make the water darker (like lake water-ish)? Or will I have to tamper with the gradient a bit?

I haven't messed with it myself in a while, but tweaking with the gradient might do it. Or, you could mess with the brightness/contrast options, or the color balance. Any of those should work.

Thanks again for the tutorial!

Well there's always bound to be some variation. I actually think the way it came our for you probably works better for how you were using it, since the main difference is not having as many bright spots, which would kinda detract from the focus anyways.

Really glad it worked for you! ^_^

Oo, I like. Reminds me of game graphics. ^_^
Funny; because I only read poetry from you, I didn't know you were into visual art too. Nice tutorial; it looks good (even though I don't have GIMP... ).

SnoringFrog In reply to photosoph [2007-07-03 02:57:24 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I am, I just don't get around to working with it alot of times, and I don't bother putting most of what I do on my DA. It's largely assorted banners and such. Every once in a while I put som eof it up though, and I try to keep my fractal art up, although I'm not sure what of it I have on here, so I haven't bothered uploading anymore recently.
