I like the imagery better... I'm not in love with the font or your use of it however. I would find a different font and maybe make it one more size up. The shape of the bubbles I am liking... I would keep that. But the first one that Lunn says is hard to read, and the text box is too crowded close together and is pushing on the edges of the square... it needs more room to breathe. I suggest widening the box and playing with the leading and kerning, and be careful with the extra space between sentences.
Also, if I may, I would make Lunn and his cat friend bigger to fill the empty space in the last panel (since you aren't using it for bubbles). Normally I'm all for empty space, but this one seems a bit forced.
