ANOUNCEMENT: There will be no lemon in this series! For those who don't know what that is, be glad you don't know yet. But, as ClassicMalt pointed out, 049 *probably* would be one of those entities that wouldn't really be sexually interested in a human being. But if the fans wish to write one themselves, let me know when it is finished, and I will post a link to it in one of the next chapters.
ALSO: if you are into xMale!Reader stuff, feel free to change the gender on this, I could care less, because what you like is what you like, I can't change that.

(Continuing directly from Ch. 5)

You storm out of the containment cell; anger showing on your face. You could almost strangle someone. One of the guards approach you, but when you shoot him a glare, he pauses.

"Ma'am, did something go wrong?"

Your jaw almost dropped to the floor. You just wanted to slap him, but knowing he knew not of what you knew; your best friend's demise was only one of those problems. Inhale; Exhale. Shrugging, you continue on your way to your office. When you arrive, you find a fresh cup of coffee (or what ever you like) on your desk.

      Dear (Y/N) (L/N),
When you receive this, log onto your computer and enter this code into the Foundations encrypted messaging database:
       55TESRA04918B

You type it into your computer, noting that the person did not leave their 'John Hancock', or 'Jane Hancock', so you decide it would be better to be cautious. You sign into the Foundation's messaging system, a window pops up asking for a password, and you assume it's asking for that long-ass password.
The database slowly loads, and you start thinking about it. I mean, highest security facility, no one takes a dump without clearance. Every protocol necessary, and unnecessary, needed in everything you do. One would think that the facility would have the best, most advanced technological device necessary for the fastest internet, but it's like living with dial-up. Or antenna TV, but enough with the lousy internet and stuff.
The page finally loads, and you see someone already logged in. Cautiously, you begin typing, trying to see if this was a trap of some sort, or maybe a scam hacker. (Is that a thing, or did I make that up?)

'Hello? -(U/ID)'

'I see you have finally made it. -???'

'Who are you? -(U/ID)'

'Have you the reports and information I need? -???'

'Maybe. Are you going to answer my question? -(U/ID)'

'Good girl, you learn fast. I made you an offer earlier in the week. You give me information, I keep you in the loop of things. -???'

'How do I know I can trust you? -(U/ID)'

'You don't. -079'

'Fine, valid point. -(U/ID)'

'Information? -079'

'Right. Sending attached file. -(U/ID)'

      Sending file . . . . . . File sent

'Good. And my end of the deal. -079'

      Received file

'I will keep you updated. -079'

      Server disconnected

You immediately open the file sent to you, reading it quickly.

      Miss (Y/N) (L/N)
As you already know, the situation is getting worse. We would like to update you on what we plan to do:

As of Today next week, we will be shutting this facility down. How we do it is confidential and need-to-know, of which you don't. Until then, keep working and keep the following map in memory. We will get back to you with more details.

You examine the map, and decide to print it. Probably a bad idea, but what could you do? Remembering all of this would have been hard. Like work, or life (sometimes), or thinking about what would happen to 049 when this all went down, and not to mention all the others as well. Thinking about him just made you want to go down and 'observe' him.

'Really, you just want to spend time with, or rather, around, him.' the voice in the back of your head says. (breaking the fourth wall, yea!!!)

'So what if I do? It's not like that's my job or something!' You argue

      'Yeah, keep telling yourself that.'

You sigh as you lose yet another argument with the 'voice of reasoning', which happens to actually be the 'pain-in-the-ass-voice-in-my-head', and get up. You walk to the empty observing cell, only it wasn't empty. Someone was standing there, but you couldn't tell who it was as they had their back turned to you. You clear your throat, trying to get their attention. They turn towards you, and it was one of the 'zombies', or a 049-2, an it seemed to be locked on you.

'Guards should have done their job better, or they should be turned into class D's for their incompetence.'

"Ma'am! Move!"

You turn around to see a person wielding a gun, and it's pointed straight at you, or rather the 049-2. You move to the side as a gunshot rings throughout the lower section of the facility. The person slings the gun over their shoulder, revealing the person's face. You don't recognize the person, for they definitely don't look like a MTF guard, nor do they look like a scientist.

"Well, don't all thank me at once."

You glare at the person, not even wanting to pull out your notepad, especially since they where being a major thorn in your side at the moment.

"Ok, I didn't think you would actually take that seriously."

You sigh, a smile forming on your lips at his not-knowing-ness(yes, I did that). The poor guy, being hero to a mute and expecting you to say something, or rather thank him.

"Aren't you going to say anything at all?"

You pull out your notepad, and he makes a comment; "Of course I had to save a scientist. Always making notes."

You roll your eyes and finish your thought:

Fine, thank you. Hope you feel proud of yourself for insulting a mute. Way to go.

"Oh. Well how was I supposed to know? Wait, are you that doctor who can't speak, the one that the people communicating to you are talking about?"

You nearly face palm, or die laughing. Nodding, you write out a note asking who he was and what he was doing.

"My name is Ross. The people bringing down the facility sent me to make sure you don't get killed today."

'Why? What's today got to do with anything?'

"Today the facility is being brought down." He replies like you were supposed to actually know that.(Actually you were, but if you didn't see it, I'll explain later)

Your eyes widen in surprise; 'That was today? It said next week!'

"Yeah, well, you know how that goes."

      'Actually, I don't think I do.'

You begin walking out of the empty containment cell, either expecting him to follow, or to have him just stand there and question his life decisions.

"Hey! Where are you going?"

You turn around to face him, making a 'shushing' motion with your hand. Shrugging, he follows you. You get to your office and sit down, facing him. You scribble out a note:

'Now we can talk. No cams, no interruptions. Just me, you, and the silence of this office'

He just nods. You motion for him  to speak first, but before he can say anything, the power cuts, and the alarm system plays over the comms.

"The site is experiencing multiple Keter and Euclid level containment breaches. Full site lockdown initiated!"

You both look at each other in surprise.

Thank you! I hope it was to your liking since you had to wait a while. *I also apologize for the wait*  If you wish to write a lemon, go for it; I'll post a link to it in this and the next chapter. But if you feel like it doesn't need one, I agree.

*Again I apologize for the wait      *
