He is thought to be an animus StarWing that was abandoned due to his strange appearance (which was common way back in early StarWing history as they didn't like what they didn't know). It is rumored that he's either a ghost or an animus who made himself immortal and haunts the "Black Woods", a dark forest on Blizanci island, one of the twelve StarWing islands. Young StarWings are often dared to go spend a full 24 hours in the "Black Woods" as a kind of a hazing ritual. "Rupa" is said to search the woods for StarWings to take back to his lair and keep as prisoners forever so he will never be lonely.
