Description First test render of my male hero, tentatively named Lust (I know it's weird, but it kinda stuck). I wanted to make something slightly different than your run-of-the-mill barbarian, so I thought I'd make him the spawn of a demoness and a human warrior (thus the name). Although his fellow villagers view him with trepidation, he has saved his tiny town more than once from monster and demon attacks thanks to his natural resistance to their fiery breath and his complete immunity to their feminine charms. He now ventures into the demon's land to slay the she-devils on their own turf and to perhaps meet the famous warrior woman with the big hair who seemingly shares his objective.

Used a couple tricks here I hadn't tried before, like making a transparency map to hide a cape while keeping the chest straps for use with a different cape. Also tried out a deeper set of filters that give an older fantasy look which I think have potential.

This is still just a test image, I'm considering giving him a facial scar (or tattoo) and maybe switch his axe for a shield or some other weapon. If you have any suggestions for him (including new names), I'd definitely like to hear them!

Thanks for viewing!

This looks great. I don't feel lust looking at it at all but he's wonderfully done. If he's been fighting monsters and demons for some time, I think scarring him up (more than the face) would add a texture and realism missing from a lot of 3D art.

When it comes to genre names, I much prefer something made-up that sounds appropriate than the nickname route. Sometimes looking through all the "begets" in the Old Testament will yield up some names that you can bend and twist into unique fantasy names.

Thanks for commenting! Perhaps a woman might feel lust looking at him, but I know what you mean. I like simple names that make people wonder about the character; "Smacky" simply came about from being the unnamed hero from my image "Succubus Smackdown", and as silly as it is, I still like it for her. More scars are a good idea too, I'll experiment with that. Thanks again.

And some men. Heck, in a prison environment I'd probably flip faster than a flapjack. I'm too damn pretty to survive on the inside without some protection so sign me up for the demon hunter cellmate. If I have to go down that road, I'd prefer only one driver, Warden.

...

Anyway, I can dig your take on the names. In all honesty, genre names can sound just as silly, pretentious, and cliche and something nickname-y so I don't begrudge you that. I was talking about my personal preference only. Which, as some of you already know, is AwesomeΒ©β„’!

LOL, unfortunately more inmates look like demons than hunky demon hunters. I think I'll stay out of trouble. Thanks again for the comments, they're AwesomeΒ©β„’!
