Description 2nd (and final for now) test render of my male hero, Lust. No postwork except color correction. Materials improved slightly and I made him look a little less...weird. Might as well try to make him as attractive as the villainesses he's going to fight.

He'll have a few scars and slightly better hair when he's in a 'finished' pic, plus that strap will properly connect to his sheath (not sure why it isn't there, it's not poking through his skin. huh).

Nice. I wouldn't mind having a sword like that, especially when the college students in my neighborhood get really loud & drunk. Walking outside with a blade like Lust's would shut them up real quick.

yah, neither did I but documentaries are a wonderful thing ... no one would expect a gladiator named Pansy or Buttercup to be that threatening then they turned out to be these hulking beasts

Were those actual translated names (Pansy, Buttercup, Precious) mentioned in the documentary? I did read that graffiti was found on ancient walls referring to gladiators and that they pretty much had female groupies like movie stars do today, but that practice of naming is really wild.

I was extrapolating a little with buttercup and precious, but if memory serves Pansy was one of the directly mentioned names. There is a very good set of documentaries about gladiators and the Colosseum among the special features on the DVD for the Russel Crowe movie Gladiator where I know it was mentioned, but I have heard it elsewhere as well.
