Description
The Teenage EmbryoI am a soft lower lip
Trembling against furry teeth.
Persistent,
I think with my tongue,
Searching for stories to tell you.
Something to do with jaundice
And eyeballs shot bloody
With defiance and desire.
The frame, clumpy lashes.
The frame, deathly purple rings
Like warpaint or twin ashtrays.
Smear me with concealer,
The detritus of self-confidence,
Bleach and clog me,
The human pore.
Film me with the blank light
Of ten thousand clamouring screens
Screaming
Bottled, in an infinity
Of stagnant, murmuring rooms.
The suspension of suggestion
Swollen with lust and ink.
In this communal womb,
I will cling to myself.
Somewhere music is pulsing
And there is rabid laughter
And I am swimming
In sweet, stale poison.
Here, I have barely begun.

holy shit! this poem is damb amazing...
"sweet stale poison"
oh this is so lush.
and the concealer verse is so prescise and exact. so magnified.
i love this poem.
