Nice drawing! There's a certain mood to this piece, like there's a story behind it. It feels as if this "infant" robot is longing and waiting for it's owner at the spot where his home used to be.

I couldn't help it. I'm a writer. This was too good an inspiration to pass up: a short story

I love the picture, the colors and composition are wonderful. The birds are a nice touch also, just a bit of a contrast with the living birds against the metal and rubble. Very nice.

Reminds me a lot of the Iron Giant, and I loved that movie.
The whole junkyard and ever the way the robot is designed seems to hint a lot @ that movie. Wether it was your intention or not to have it play that way it's till an extrodinary piece of work!

It's the end of the world as we know it... civilization is lost, but not before the creation of sentient robots... one of whom was spared in whatever conflict and wishes he could fly away home...

I like the bright white fog, makes a contrast to the dark robot,..
looks like he's letting the bird go be free instead of caging it for his own joy. but that kinda crashed with the other bird just standing there... I guess the other bird is his buddy whos gonna stay.
he looks incredibly sad though
I like the yellow glow in his eyes and the dark green colour on the ground is lovely too. they make the picture richer.
so tell me? whats the story

great concept!! I do agree that the birds should have more contrast, they seem to belong to the background, and not to the robot's plane...
congratulations

fichot In reply to ??? [2006-11-17 15:09:55 +0000 UTC]

think the bird could be a little bit sharper in contrast and shadows, this way it don seem like in the same plane as the bot.
other than this it's a great pic.

Aunvi In reply to ??? [2006-11-16 16:44:27 +0000 UTC]

My only crit is that the texturing from the top of the robot do not seem consistent with the bottom, and so I think that it's feet should still have a short of shine, but more of the shine from the green ground rather than the shadow-y shading.

I think the bird could seem like it blends too much into the background, like someone said before I think, but I think if you play with the colors a bit it would look different.

Overall I love this piece, especially for the lack of facial features. And the yellow in his eyes, really set him apart from the rest of the scene, giving him the appearance of kind of not completely taken over by the grey sadness of the scene, and that there is some since of hope in it

Thank you, I'll take note of that, however I really must say, this work is not finished yet, there's far more to be repaired and readjusted, but thanks for pointing out those mistakes.
