i can never get my hair to spike like his (i even got my female sister to try...because aparently, sister's are good with hair stuff) and she couldn't spike it either. I keep getting so frusterated... it looks so simple.
But i do love this. the geek-chic look as they called it.

It's not simple at all, really, hair hates to defy gravity.
Try products intended for punk rockers. I use a wax and a freezing hairspray.
Also, concentrate on the tips of the hair, not the roots. Too much product on the roots weighs the hair down. This con, my hair looked awesome, but I've had plenty of times where my hair just derped super hardcore for a con, it can be a little hit and miss.
