Finally finished one of my little sketches of an older teenage/young adult Kit! This is something you just don't see much of when it comes to TS fan art and I love the concept - especially if he's back with the pirates.
Anyways, here he is hunting for treasure with Don Karnage and looking a bit worried about something or other. No, of course that's not the same shirt he was wearing when he was 12 (if it were wouldn't it fit more like a crop top given his new height? 
) but he looks good in green... so there. I also love the idea of him wearing one of the captain's coats. Surely he has enough to spare one. XDHad a family emergency earlier this week (everything is okay now) and the last few days have been absolute chaos and a downright blur. Today is the first time I've had a chance to sit down and pick up a pencil since the last thing I uploaded on... uh, Tuesday? I actually finished coloring this one the night before everything happened and all there was left to do was put a few finishing touches on it. I was originally gonna upload it together with a bunch of other smaller sketches that I've colored but I guess it's not terrible on it's own.
I'll have more up soon-ish, hopefully.

For me, it's kind of like deja vu because my mind's eye has already "seen" this in living color just from imagining all the things that could have been going on when I saw the original sketch. Still, it's so very awesome to see this. ^_^ I like the details with the map and the torch. Also really like the way Kit's hair is drawn. Not that I have ever given any thought whatsoever in the last 20 years on what Kit would look like grown up, but if I ever have, I think everything about the way he's drawn fits the bill nicely. We can't see, but... does Kit's coat have a patch on the right elbow?
Regarding yours and 8OV's speculation, we'll never know how tall he'd get, but I think Karny's height is about right for him as an adult. Even for a 11-/12-year-old, he strikes me as somewhat runt-ish (like, Baloo's arm is as long as Kit is tall, and 12 isn't that young). But then... who knows what would happen with three squares a day on Dumptruck's same diet?

Noo, I can't imagine you of all people having ever given any thought to such a thing. ;D Hm, I hadn't considered that but now that you mention it... it would be cute. Kit finally gets to wear one of the Captain's coats and tears a hole in it on the first day. I doubt Karny would be willing to fork over another (because he only has about 200) so he'd have to patch it up. Fitting! If I draw another of older Kit where we can see his right side I might add that.
I've never imagined him as having a physique even remotely close to Baloo's when he grows up, he's far too active. I like the height he's at in this picture, doubtful I'll make him any taller. Hopefully he wouldn't be eating the same things as Dumptruck, half of which are probably not even safe for consumption. Slimy not satisfying. XD

this makes sense that he'd be basically as tall has Don as a teenager considering he's going to be like 3 feet taller than him when he grows up but for some reason i never really thought about that before ;'D your coloring here is really phenomenal. it looks like you used charcoal to get the the shading effect on this but the fact that you didn't and it's so clean throughout is super impression. great use of the lighting on this as well. it's really difficult to make a light source pop correctly in traditional work. your poor black colored pencil is a nub now like Sparkz's missing paw :'D

Thanks so much! Ahhh yeah, I figured him to be an older teen/young adult here but I guess he would be taller when fuller grown. XD I go through certain colors like crazy (namely black, brown, orange...and lately I've been using a lot of blue and green too, of course), my pencils get worn down to stubs quite often.
