Synopsis: “SpongeBob tries to keep Fred’s leg safe.”
They say it’s impossible to make a story from a running gag, but the right amount of materials can make it work, and this episode does it well. Let’s see why. This episode starts with a montage of Fred’s leg being repeatedly injured, hence screaming “My leg!”. The doctor tells him to keep the leg safe, or he’ll replace it with a robot leg. SpongeBob than tries to keep him out of harm’s way, but it proves difficult. This episode is very reliant on the “My leg!” gag for humor, but I think the repetition works, mainly in how it’s limited mostly to the first half, and everything happens in rapid fire succession that the darker comedy comes across as actually funny. Beyond that, it actually tells a fairly sweet story, even if cliché. It turns out that Fred likes getting his leg injured since he gets treated by the same nurse every time, a rather large nurse. We get a nice established personality for him, the guy who’s willing to take risks for those he cares about. It’s pretty sweet, and Doug Lawrence helps show off more range for him here than before. It also helps that, even with some meanness, he’s still a pretty nice guy even when SpongeBob makes things worse. The ending gives a fairly overdone message on doing what you can to impress others, but because he’s so likable and the humor fits like a glove, everything falls into place quite nicely, making this a well done episode.

Doug Lawrence, of course, also voices Fred. He is also the story editor on the show, having took over after Kyle McCulloch left after Season 9.

Just wondering, Sofia Blythe, did you hear that Cartoon Network is digging themselves deeper by making yet another trash reboot to be released next year?

You're talking about Thundercats Roar, and we don't even know it'll be bad since it hasn't aired yet. It could be good. Also, I posted a status about it yesterday, so I already know about it.

Ok you’re right we’ll have to wait and see. I think it will be a POS and the odds are not in favor the show will be good, but we’ll have to wait for the release.

I would also like to add that Toddler Titans and co. are just trends and these pandering shows are designed to make money in the short term but when their audiences grow up, they will say, "What were we thinking watching this trash?" Also they are not designed to stick around.
