Description
Zeuss- A rescue Thorougbred, first day at the facility, down in colic....
I meant for this photo to turn out dark and moody. Please don't comment on how it's "too dark".
This is also a low light portrait. If you're skeptical, look at the date and time it was shot.
The sun has already set in this image, leaving the last bit of light to glow across the horse and the ground.

Well there are many reasons a horse would need to be rescued... neglect, abuse, fire/natural disaster, improper care...some are dangerous situations, and some are simply just not in the best interest of the horse.
The best way to get into horse rescue is to find a local organization and do some volunteer work.
I would not recommend taking on rescue horses unless you're at least moderately educated in equine behavior, husbandry and nutrition... and I would not recommend taking on a rescue horse unless you are financially able to afford caring for a 1200ish pound animal who needs food, water, feet trimming, dental care, medical exam and treatment for anything that may happen because, even if you take on a foster rescue for an organization, you're responsible for everything about that horse while it's in your care... and it can be pretty expensive, even with an organization's help.
