Description
Don't worry. I don't know what I'm doing either.A little while back I saw a Norwegian documentary called "Jeg Mot Meg" which means "I Against Me". Eight young Norwegians documented their daily life while facing psychological problems. They would all meet once a week with a psychologist in Oslo sharing and talking about their challenges. This documentary really hit a spot in me. I realised how many people that are daily fighting these beyond difficult fights. Facing their challenges all alone and might not have the strength to overcome them on their own. Even though the eight young Norwegians all had different psychological problems one thing they all shared was the feeling that they were alone with their problems. Sharing and learning that others felt just as lost as them, and some even more lost, really helped them all.
I immediately wanted to do something. But what can I do? I thought that if maybe I could help share and show others that they are not alone with their problems and challenges, even though it feels like it, maybe that could do just a little bit. Maybe just for one person.
Some amazing people from all over the world have shared their stories, their challenges, and how or what made them get to "the other side". I'm going to share these stories with you. This is someones personal experiences so please be respectful.
I don't believe it to be a common struggle, but it is mine nonetheless. For the majority of my teen years I had developed a bad ego and lack of perspective. I grew to judge people based on their use to the world. This is not an wholly invalid judgment of character, but for me it was to the point where everyone seemed to have a place below me. Everybody was either stupid or incompetent unless I had already liked them, such exemptions were my friends or those I looked up to. I saw what was present in people, not their whole self. My behavior and attitude had driven someone close to me to tears, and it was at that moment that the part of me striving to love the world decided to give a nice slap in the face. Just as well, I became inspired by stories of mind over matter and began to self-practice self-awareness. From then on I could harness myself, and push forward into the person that I deeply wanted to be. One who saw people as colorful individuals, not as a grayscale blur of people. I continue my efforts to this day.

Very beautiful and I think you depicted what the person wanted... individuals with their own spark, colour, vibrancy.
We may all be birds, and all birds can do some of the same things, but our true colour is beneath all that normality.
Now on the painting itself.. I love that the viewer wants to see the birds first, before travelling down the colourful spills- almost like gazing over a person and all their abilities beneath them. or within them. wonderful job

I'm so happy to hear that It's also really great to hear how you interpreted the painting. Because your view is pretty close to my thoughts behind the painting but others have interpreted it in a similar but still different way

The whole sentiment behind this hits me really deep; it's relatable to so many people who struggle secretly. The depiction of the birds is both sweet and powerful. Thanks for sharing this great art, and description!

I finally took the time to read more carefully the whole story behind it, and it's really great.
There was something at first when I saw your picture without reading that brought to me the idea of struggle. Like, I'm happy on the outside, but on the inside, I'm just falling down. And I love that after reading your texts, another interpretation pops up, and another one, and another one.
The simplicity of this piece is its strength

Oh I'm soooo glad to hear that! Painting a piece inspired by someones personal story was a lot harder than I first anticipated. It's also great to hear that there are more interpretations than one - probably some others than what I've had in mind
