This was an interesting fairy tale. Nice work with the lighting, and the multitude of colors for the mattresses adds brightness and makes it seem more whimsical. Thankfully, they weren't one to roll around in their sleep!

Very beautiful picture. Like how you made each mattress different. Also really love the princess' nightgown, and her hair!

I always thought that it was a dried pea.
They are really hard, even if you step on one, they don't squish.
It's a lovely piece, The Princess and the Pea is one of my favorite stories.
Thank you for posting!

A suppose a dried pea would work.
You're welcome.

I don't think it would have been difficult to get frozen peas if it was winter.

This is true. But in the story, the Princess arrives in a rainstorm, which you rarely get in Wintertime...

Well, I think her weight is evenly spread out on the mattresses. And the bottom one is a TempurPedic memory foam mattress. So is the top one. And the other 98. So if it weren't for that pea, she probably wouldn't have woken up.

I know I wouldn't wake up even if there was a pea with mattresses like that.
Whoops - guess I'm not a true princess then.

that story always confused me...
but your theory on the frozen pea can be valid ^^

There are many moments of suspended disbelief in that story, but it was a fun story nonetheless. ^^
Perhaps. I wonder, did they have refrigerators? Or magic? It IS a Fairy Tale, after all.
