Sorry, I might be a bit dense right now, but...what does the last step do? Gaussian blur etc.
I can't see the difference.

The Gaussian blur just makes the shading a tad more softer, the lower the radius the less blur will appear

A bit overkill once you import to PS, but I can see how it would be nifty.
Other than that great tutorial. Will be using this method and see how I like it with my own art.
