OMG a DD!I hope galaxies doesnt bore you because Im in the mood to create another scene with galaxy. D I really adore them! They are quite hard to make but I think this one turned out really good. I took me about 4 days to finish just the galaxy because its really huge! Its 8400x4800px@500dpi. This is the largest piece I made so far for now.

Done in PS and Vue in approx 20h.

hehe...actually I made some galaxies before this piece and thats why I wrote that, but really, galaxies cannot be boring for me

This looks so amazing. Honestly, it looks so good, it looks like something Apple would use with their release of Mac OS X 10.8 as a default wallpaper, but without the flying shuttle craft and the logo imprint on the bottom left. Great job!

I think the galaxy is great, but personally it should've been in an angle to give the whole scene a bit more depth.

I also don't agree that the planets need more attention as the focal point is the massive galaxy in the distance. This is fantastic! Adding it to my favs.

I don't know how anyone can be bored with an image of a galaxy, of all things. Such gorgeous cosmic phenomena! And you did it so much justice. It looks so amazingly real. I also have to thank you for including a tutorial. I love galaxies but I can't paint then well at all. :<
