I'd rather have laugh lines, chalk scribbling the sky, and grass that smells happy too. It's funny, but the smell of grass does make me happy.
Beauty defies definition, and nature has more beauty will always have more beauty than a human face covered in make-up.

That's exactly what I was trying to get across. (And grass always has a smell of happiness about it, for me it makes me think of summer and spring and fresh things :3)
I get tired of seeing modern ideals about beauty forced onto people, and when I see pictures of fashion models with tons of make-up and always looking so solemn it strikes me that they may look stunning, but never particularly happy. Whereas an ordinary person whose face is lit up by joy is incredibly beautiful - even if they would never be a fashion model. And the old saying, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, is quite right.

I agree entirely. I love photos of ordinary people who are simply comfortable to be themselves. Fashion models are often uncomfortable in their portraits, because they often have to cake make-up on their faces and wear heavy costumes and ridiculous headdresses or hairstyles. They spend hours with people dressing them up, poking and prodding them before they finally take pictures. It's like they're more dolls than people.

Yes. Exactly, you read my mind xP You see a lot of spontaneous portraits on dA, and they always seem beautiful to me because they have soul behind them, not because the models are this era's definition of pretty.
And half of the models they actually digitally enhance the photographs afterwards to alter the shape of their face and so on, so there seems little point in their having makeup in the first place O.o

Wow. I think I *have* seen the end of that, actually, in passing. Interesting how they enlarge the eyes afterwards on Photoshop – the saddest thing to me is that in only one instance of the video did she look actually happy to me. :/
