Description Mourne of Tresserhorn, Captain of the Ramparts of Forostar, Numenorean Warrior.
One of my most beloved characters of all time and also probably one of the most powerful, being played intensively for over 3 consecutive years in a Rolemaster/MERP campaign, reaching a whopping 37 level!

Mourne was born in Numenor during the Second Age of Middle Earth, son of a lower nobility family. As every young man in Numenor he undertook military career and became a respected Captain of the Guard. He fought in many battles serving his master, Duke Ceorl of Keberus. Aside from battle he was a loving husband and father of two. Then he fell in love with the wrong woman: Mornien, a princess of Yarrostar, betrothed to Duke Ceorl. Their relationship was discovered. Mornien jumped from the bastions of Ceorl's castle to the rocky cliff below, for not having to bear the shame of betrayal. Mourne standed his trial and was condemned to the most cruel punishment: he would have been exiled, but not before having killed his own family, wife and children, with his own hands. Mourne knew that it would have been an act of compassion, since if he has refused, a much worse fate would have awaited his family.
So Mourne lost everything: his family, his love, his honor and his home. He was sent sailing to the Lands of Exile, the Middle Earth, where he would live a miserable life tormented forever by the memory of his faults and what he had lost. Instead, Mourne raised again on his feet and walked tall, becoming a living legend between the people of Middle Earth and finally returning to Numenor to overthrow the dispotic and cruel reign of Ceorl. But instead of putting himself in his place he set sail to unknown seas, finally free of his burden and ready to face his final fate.

This redesign has been very difficult. I wanted to maintain the stern look of the character practically unchanged, and also keet his signature wall shield and bulky plate armor and flanged mace. I wanted however to make him look more aged, since he was in his mid '40s when he started play and possibly ten years older when he retired - still vigorous however. I wanted to finally portray him with his signature, ocean-grey steel eyes, and his thousand-yard stare that I wasn't able to depict at the time.

Nice improvement especially on the face. Looks more human and less cartoon character now. Great work in a very cool style.
