Description
Dragan was - and possibly still is - one of my most beloved characters of all time.I can't really say why. Dragan was a simple character - maybe the simplest ever. A barbarian from the plains in our Tolkien-esque RPG setting (yes, we called it Middle Earth but it really was a sort of "expanded universe"). A powerful, fierce warrior. However, not much more than this. He had practically no backstory whatsoever, and no special traits apart from what you'd expected from a character like him: great strenght, a berserker fury, and incredible resilience. He was defined by the item he wielded and wore, which he had acquired during his adventures (a thrashing sword and a magical dwarven-made stone hammer) and by his deeds - not always acts of great valor and fairness to be true. Maybe it was exactly that the reason for I had so much sympathy for Dragan: because he was a simple character, yet very entertaining and fun to play. Because he had no overwhelming backstory and great destiny to fulfill, but was only a warrior, an adventurer, a slayer.
He was free to be defined by his actions rather than his intrinsic characteristics and greater goals to achieve.
So let me introduce you Dragan, the raider of the plains. The only reference image I had was a full color acrylic painting a-la Frazetta style in which he was pictured with a full helm on.
I can assure you that he had that not-that-friendly appearance and unruly hair under his helmet...
