These sketches were done for the Katelyn Mccaigue griffin competition and are just the basic ideas that I'm playing around with. By the end, I did manage to get a final idea for the head and upper torso and I like the diverse colour schemes but I still want to design the legs and wings to be more suitable for the overall design.Related content

I was actually also considering a Raven or a Vulture but Owl seemed just too good of a design to miss.

Yes ! But the raven sounds dope too ( my inner edge-lord emerges ) No, owl is the best !
It reminds me firs chapter of my book where mc (Magnus) fly with his friend on the griffin named, ehem "Griffin" ( creative I know, but it was a comic relief 
As you said this design is just way too good to miss
