The first My Little Pony is still first in my heart, my mind and my line of inspirational colourful horses.
Might remake this a bit someday.
I feel like I need people to get this. Am I alone?
You are looking at this stamp "out of context"!
The idea is to use this on pictures and customs of/on first generation ponies and also "oc's" inspired by the first generation. Feel free to do the same - if you know the difference!

That's interesting, many new fans (or maybe they aren't fans?) don't bother to find out the "history".

I havent see the new one, and I honestly didnt even want too... I knew it wasnt my original My Little Pony... I hd even in my adult year the Original, Butterscotch and Cotten Candy... *Le sigh* My little Ponies for life! 80s baby - baby!

I watched it after a while, when the complete first season had been out for a while. It's not that bad, it's just another mainstream series, but this time including ponies (that is, in my world, not my little ponies XD)

I generally donot have issues with old to new... but sometimes one needs to say no. I perfer original, like say Lady Lovely Locks lol.
Yeah I had the Flutter Ponies too.. Oh I could list the different toys I had, but My Little Pony will ALWAYS have a special place in my heart.

It is, I looked at the ponies and the design is more... Horsey Powerpuff Girl, Im starting to think that it is the rage. It also seems that they are trying to slender - ise the ponies as well, they no longer have the 'puddgy' Farm horse/Draft horse look.

Welcome to world of reboots. Marvel, DC, Transformer fans have been dealing with this for a long time. Personalities, designs, and characters change.
The creator worked on Power Puff Girls so is not surprise that the style is similar. In FiM defense they try to get the original cast of G1 but could only get the rights for Applejack. And Lauren base the mane cast around the personalities she gave her toys when she was little kid.

And, yeah, its easy to see they are designed for cheap and easy to do animation.
People might dislike me for saying this, but cartoon-wise, to me, the G1 look more cuddly while G4 look more "bitchy".

i know... I think the whole ..big anime eyes... Has gone a bit to far. The poor children need more subtance than whatever the heck they spitup. Le sigh not much can be about it.

The new MLP is NOT MLP, it's a shiny new (and often very good cartoon) in the style of many Cartoon Network cartoons, but featuring ponies based off MLP.
I had a fit when it came out, as I've adore MLP since I was a child, and spent years collecting the toys and selling them on Ebay, but at the end of the day anyone who likes the real MLP knows the difference, and everyone else probably wouldn't like the original anyway.

About 'not mlp', my "heart" so do agree A LOT, but my head knows the truth, people have decided that FiM is the "real" MLP now, and that the old MLP firends are strange because they see the story and characterizations of the new ones are so mainstream that it doesn't matter that they are ponies, they could have been anything and it would have worked just as well.
I where there in the "old days" too^^ The only toy I played with was MLP
