This VS is intended for Windows 7. It's tested and working on both 32 and 64-bit versions.
Updated for SP1.

Hey guys. There is a much easier way to install this theme. Just download Universal Theme Patcher, launch the one you need either 32 bit or 64 bit. Patch the files, restart your PC. Then download ONLY this theme. No additional files. Grab the Placebo Cold 2 Light Folder and theme file or any one of your choosing, but not the top of left once as far as the theme file goes, just the regular. Put it in C:/Windows/Resources/Themes. Apply the theme and it should work! It worked for me. I wouldn't lie if something didn't work for me, and this is the safest way to do it without having to mess with your System 32 folder. Good luck! Is there any chance you could make the whole package a little easier to install ?
By this I mean the explorer and shell32 placement files etc... don't always seem to work and it's a little fiddly and agitating to be honest.
I love this theme and used Black Market Calibri on Windows 8.1 but on windows 8.1 it was exceedingly easy to install, Just drag and drop with this 99% of the time the explorerframe.dll does not work, Please fix it.

I can't get orbs to work when I use the themepatcher. Β It stops working properly. Β If I do it that way will I need the additional system files ? Β How would I do that? Β I had it working before I restored but I was using a styler program that was hogging resources. Β Also I love this theme so much so its my number one choice. Β specifically the ash and black market themes. Β I tried to use restorator to change orb from the default and it will only show my default orb if I don't edit the explorer system file to allow custom themes. Β If I do it after restoring and reapplying, I get the orb to change but the theme is like a mix between basic windows theme and this one. Β It was pretty unpleasant and only changed the task bar colors. Β
Any help from anyone who can provide it would be greatly appreciated <3
Could someone also explain the SHELL32.dll and WMPLOC.dll files and what they pertain to in customizing themes? I want to eventually get into making my own themes some day and that seems rather important to know! Β

So I am having an issue all of a sudden, where when I change my theme to any of the Placebo themes, they all look like the windows basic theme and nothing I can do to it will change it back. Hopefully someone else has had and fixed this issue and can help out, because this is really bugging me. I really want to be able to continue using this awesome theme like I have over the past years.

Years after you released it I just ran across it while trying to tone down my own desktop. This is an outstanding piece! Beautiful, cool, soft, smooth .. I can't think of any more words to describe it! After finally getting all the blasted system files patched it is a flawless beauty of a desktop!

Please, please, for the love of god, please just ... give me a copy of the Kitsch Object, but with it being aqua blue instead of being purple. with all the selections being purple, i like the window minimize etc. buttons, they have that oldschool Mac-like yet original feel, but please, i can't use Kitsch Object cause i'm too bothered by the purpleness D: Please make one version without it. Having issue with page size using 'Ashtray'. That is page loads fine but going to next page is 'off screen' with no scroll bar. Anyone have any input about this ????

Without a doubt best theme i know of so far, very clean and flat ! Im a flat type of guy, have flat themes installed on all my devices! However i don't personally like the other themes besides the very top two! I think you should take them out and just leave the top two, and name them "Placebo Light & Dark"... idk just a personal thought lol... besides that overall, the theme is a beauty! Great job and i hope to see some more cool amazing themes like this in the future !

Hey, I found these themes amazing. Especially Kitsch, it looks really really sweet.
But I have one question: Is Kitsch supposed to be white like this on the control panel, unlike Ashtray which is black?

If it is then it's unfortunate for me, because I was looking for a theme that was balanced and that could make windows programs dark, and the only one of your themes that does that is Ashtray (don't know if that's normal), but the one I really enjoy is Kitsch... I think all of them are balanced (the colors and text colors - unlike every other dark theme I found), but I don't enjoy them as much as Kitsch.
I'm using both Theme Resource Changer and Universal Theme Patcher. I don't know if it might be something related to them.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I second this quibble. Highlight for the drive in menu panel is a wonderful contrast and it would be nice to have it in the primary viewing area as well. If I find a solution I'll post another reply here...
