Well, this was very difficult, so I made a ton of mistakes, but it finally feels like a breakthrough that I wanted. I have gained a foothold in drawing nature, so I can now stop avoiding it and start building upon this foundation (and that's a HUGE variety of possible backgrounds, a lot of stuff involves nature, so I'm quite excited for that). Having no starting point (only lessons from previous failures) is scary.
And it's not just the background, I have never (not counting gesture sketches) drawn anything similar to this pose, and it's hard as hell, especially with fabric added into the mix.
Anyway, the most important thing is that I finally regained my motivation, last two months were a procrastination-fest. I also got a bunch of new ideas on how to improve my speed (and possibly quality too), so hopefully winter will be more productive.

Wow! Looks like a figurine!
The shading is realistic, yet cartoony. But it looks very well! And the character is very detailed! Her hand has nails! Most artists I've been watching tend to just exclude the nails from their paintings, as those are so difficult!

Thank you very much! My stylistic direction is basically "anime that looks 3d", so sort of like a figurine, yeah. I'm glad you like it - it's pretty hard to balance because overdosing on realism causes the entire style to collapse (since most animeish features just stop working at that point).
As for nails, that's actually the first drawing where I took the time to figure out how to draw nails properly (previously, I either didn't draw them at all or just filled them with semi-transparent pinkish color). They're not that difficult, it's just an easily forgettable detail, especially since hands by themselves are very hard - by the time you're done with them you just don't care about nails anymore.
