Well it's certainly been a while since I posted anything (I mean, it's always like that, but this time it's a longer while than usual)
In part because of hiatus caused by Illya drawing being too much of a hurdle, in part because I was working on commissions that I couldn't post, in part because I played deresute a bit too much, and in part because not one but two of my hard drives died and I'm now on linux instead of windows so it took a while to setup and get used to. Also upgraded a bit, I now use an SSD so everything saves and opens like 10 times faster and I now have 32gb RAM instead of 16, which is a lot comfier, with 16 I pretty much had to use swap.
Anyway, I'm back now.
This is the first drawing done entirely on linux from start to finish (still using CSP and photoshop, wine is a wonderful thing).
Also an attempt to develop my simplified style, and I think I got some important clues on how to get a lot faster while working on this.
I was going to start posting stuff on twitter half a year ago but my huge backlog was stopping that, so I just want to get rid of it and start a new. I'll probably just abandon the drawings that I had in the works, will only finish them if I really feel like it.
Oh and vote Kozue please, Kozue deserves a voice.

Oh dang, hard drive failures are terrible. I hope you didn't lose any important data.
So you're using Linux now, too? How do you like it so far (I made the switch about a year ago, too.)
Which distro are you using?
Good to hear that your art programs are still working on Linux. Mine didn't (Paint Tool Sai), so I had to switch.
I'm using Krita now, which is surprisingly good (and even better than Sai, to be honest), and it's entirely free.

I had everything backed up so no I didn't really lose anything.
As for distro, linux mint. I like it a lot, really, software compatibility is the only major issue, and wine kind of solves that.
I tried krita but it just feels like a step down when it comes to drawing compared to CSP and is basically not comparable to photoshop at all when it comes to editing.
CSP works pretty much perfectly with wine 4.5 with some winetricks tinkering (4.6 breaks pen sensitivity for some reason, so I rolled back, haven't checked the newer ones), the only issue is sub-windows and menus sometimes appearing behind the main window instead of on top, which is very negligible (especially with two monitors since you can just move them on the other one), I'm quite happy about that.

Linux Mint is a good choice.
I'm currently using Ubuntu with KDE as desktop environment, as Gnome causes weird freezes on my system.
Yeah, wine is amazing. I have found barely anything that won't run. heck, even a lot of the Touhou fan-games I own run without problems. xD
Ah, okay. I never tried CSP, so I don't have any reference, but if it works well, then why bother switching. ^^
For me, Krita is a step up from Paint Tool Sai, though. xD
