Description
In today's mobile phone world, these classic cabins are looking a bit old fashioned. But I still like the design.Photo taken in London

I really love this image; and this effect. I have been trying to single out one color on photoshop but I haven't quite been able to do so effectively or "cleanly". If you don't mind me asking; is there a trick to do it easier than manual selection with the lasso tool?

Well, for this image I didn't use the lasso but the magic selection brush.
For this kind of picture, I try to find the right tolerance (usually 20 to 30 pixels) to select the object, or at least most of it. Than while pressing the shift I can add more portions to the original selection. After clicking a bit here and there, I end up with a good selection of what I want to keep (in this case, the red telephone cabin).
After that, I reverse the selection and convert the scene to B&W except the telephone cabin. Sometimes there is a "color gap" between the colored part and the B&W part. I adjust this afterwoods with various brushes to get a seemless transition.

This kind of selective colour is certainely not new, but sometimes effective to point out a certain part of the image.
Glad to hear that you like it and thx for the fave.
