Description Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows / Chapter 34 "The Forest Again" / by J.K.Rowling

... Voldemort and Harry looked at each other, and now Voldemort tilted his head a little to the side, considering the boy standing before him, and a singularly mirthless smile curled the lipless mouth.
"Harry Potter," he said, very softly. His voice might have been part of the spitting fire. "The boy who lived."

Wow -- you went all out. I would have made it much simpler if it were me, but I love the detail!

yeah, that's him ... (the only one without a hood on his robes) ... he's decribed as "facing Voldemort", so that's him - but I should admit that you can easily mistake him for anyone else.

Now it's YOUR turn to have plucked a scene right out of my head!!! (though I was still debating inwardly whether to include Harry or not)

Nicely done. The giants' heads are almost surreally big, looming over the scene like that. And you've got that curious tilt of He Who Must Not Be Named's head spot on!

Wie gewöhnlich. Tolle Arbeit.
Bin nach wie vor davon begeistert, wie klar du schraffierst. Sieht echt gut aus. Schöne, saubere Technik.

I love the design you chose for this, how you left the bracketing trees light, and the moonlike presence of Nagini. Giants make it seem very surreal to me, and I also like the claustrophobic feel of the whole image.

... hab extra nochmal nachgelesen ... Hagrid ist an einen Baum gebunden, und zwei Riesen sitzen bei den Todessern - wer die sind, das weiß nur die Autorin ... Ach so, die Spinnweben sind auch authentisch - es ist ja die Lichtung von Aragog + Co.

Ach so, zwei Riesen. Ich dachte einer davon währe Grawp. Danke für Dein Mühe.

First of all: I love viewing your DH-scenes and like always, this is simply awesome. I've only got one question: do you use such a small format for drawing or can't you upload bigger images. It's a bit frustrating getting all the details from those small pictures...
I did this scene, too. right after I read the book back in July. But I lost the sketchbook I've done it in I had loads of fun with this scene! First, it took me ages to get Harry's posture. That was pretty exhausting and frustrating, but when I put the clothing onto the characters... Voldemort somehow (don't ask me how exactly it happened. He was supposed to get very simple, plain black robes) ended up in Galadriel's dress! I was laughing my head off. It was incredibly funny, despite the seriousness of the actual situation.

OMG a lost sketchbook! What a nightmare - I feel sorry for you ... honestly!

I edited the above piture and put in the full-view size, hope now you can enjoy it more than before

thanx a lot!! Yeah, I was really grieved by my loss. I had only begun to finally produce decent results in my attempts to draw... furthermore, those were the very first HP7-sketches I did.
Anyway, this pic is HUGE!!! wow! Is there a reason why you don't upload all of your works in original size? Is the upload space restricted or something like that?

somelatevisitor In reply to heidinanookie [2008-01-12 14:06:50 +0000 UTC]

No, it's just ... the main reason is that the original size doesn't fit on my screen and I have to scroll - and the deviantart page looks better when the bigger pics still fit on the light-green background

...BTW I nearly always put in the link to the Leaky-Galleries where I also upload my pictures (like this one [link] ), and there you can click to expand and watch the pic in an extra window ...

heidinanookie In reply to somelatevisitor [2008-01-12 21:54:45 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I always watch out for the size, too. It's really frustrating if you have to scroll around to view the whole pic. I'll look at that site. thanx again!!
