that looks way better then the one I made. (the one I made's head always falls off and he does not hold his sword well.)

It takes some work to make antion. This one's arms don't move becaus of ho much glue his head needed and I haven't made a sword yet. The best thing to do formthe sword is take the hand from Shdow on his motorcycle and make a hilt that fits in that. That thought unfortunately didn't occur to me while i made this

3d printing as defined by wikipedia.

3d printing make a drawing, a 3d sculture, your drawing reality!
Using CAD or blender and other art programs, it comes closest to the replicator in star trek!

But it can be misused...

I just have a really positive feeling about the future of the technology!
First: we can make sulptures from our drawings.
Second: It allows for complete use of materials. Little or no waste!
Third: It can be used at home for replacement parts. Imagine you want to hear an antiquated record, record it digitally, of course, but the plastic parts in the player are old or broken. 3d printing can replace them.

With scientist coming up with handheld x-ray machines, we can begin to make parts of industrial quality. No more factories! Imagine taking food and creating packaging that fits! Withaot waste and you can shred that packaging and feed it into your printer.

With the discoveries in plastic- resently discovered how to make plastic from natural gas-whatever is made of plastic can be broken down and use for something else.

Share with freinds. The more people know the quicker we can have it...cheaper...

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Sonicblur2-0 In reply to aarn [2012-04-29 19:29:20 +0000 UTC]

What do you mean by "cheaper"

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aarn In reply to Sonicblur2-0 [2012-04-29 19:45:52 +0000 UTC]

Its getting cheaper slowly, the gears mesh and turn begining to speed up, the more power aplied, output returned, exponentially increased. With enough power, the product becomes afordable to consumers. Considering there are no rare elements to the printer except what people print out, cost will come down!
...or you could build your own.Instructions are online.

The attempt i see is to make it so you can only print what a company "wants".Sit at home, go online, and print what they think you need. What is the fun in that? But if you can print what you draw it is exclusively yours!

Ouch...please check prices..you might consider either a kit, or blue prints allowing you to repurpose junk printers from second hand stores and thrift marts..that would keep prices down. It would be a good project to work together on with freinds.
