Before the purple and yellow cucumber of steel served Bumblyburg, Phil Vischer originally had an idea titled…. ‘’Batbob’’!

Bob the Tomato was going to be a superhero parody of Tim Burton’s Batman films. Larry-Boy was going to be like a Robin, the Larry-Boy Wonder.
The story had Bat-Bob on a building during nighttime. The wind would soon take his cape and he would go after it (and call for a little help as well).

When the fifth VeggieTales video”Dave and the Giant-Pickle’’ (1996) was in production, the team took the Larry-Boy concept and turned into Larry’s new self because he didn’t feel special as Larry anymore. And thus, Larry-Boy began and Batbob fell (shows that Robin is better than Batman x D)

I drew this in three separate days (I could have done it in one, but I have other things to do). I based off Batbob’s costume on the Michael Keaton costume in the Burton films, but added rubber nipples in as a nod to the Joel Schumacher films.

And yes, that Bat-Bob signal is a tomato-bat thingy.

Bob, even though he hasn't appeared in the LB Trilogy, has made appearances. He was the editor of the Daily Bumble in the ''Cartoon Adventures'', Bobin (Red Wonder) at the end of Bad Apple, and will be the hero in Thingamabob ''The League of Incredible Vegetables''
