Description
In 2004, after a two-year hiatus, the Lego company released the third (and final) wave of their Alpha Team series (nicknamed by fans as "Mission Deep Freeze"). Although Dash Justice, Radia, Charge, Flex, and tee Vee returned, two other members didn't join them. However, they gained three new members. They were Arrow, the mechanic. Diamond Tooth, a pilot. And some dude named Zed, who I think is a major protagonist (and seems to have a very familiar logo on his torso).Anyway, the evil menace Ogel attempted to rule the world again, by freezing it. The cold-hearted villain created new ice-orbs to aid him in his frozen conquest. When the team tracked Ogel to Antarctica, they found out too late that Ogel wasn't just going to freeze the world, but also time itself... for some reason, I do not know what he would accomplish by doing that... Zed managed to save them, and zoomed to defeat Ogel. The story was featured in a Lego-Magazine comic. The magazine held a submission contest for fans to send their ideas on how the story would end... however, they were not published... and no one saw the ending to the battle. Yeah, Zed could had defeated Ogel. But...... there could be much more to this cliff-hanging story...
Anyway, I remember the sets for these when they came out. In fact, I had Flex's thingy... which I believe was the only Alpha Team set I ever had. My best friend had a collection of them, which I had memory of.
For the art, you can see what I did. I placed Ogel and Dash on separate sides, put Zed in the middle, character heads, ice-orbs, that walker thing and a ... Scorpion? A black and red scorpion? ....hmmmmm... Uh, sadly, I didn't realize that Diamond Tooth and Arrow were separated people, so I added him at the last minute (after scanning this once!) In guilt, I also added another Skeleton-Drone (the over the walker, right... left to the Skull-Base). Also, if you examine closely, you can see a clock in Ogel's visor.
Alpha Team - The Group.
Art by I'll draw it on thin ice.

I thought in the trailer they used quotes like "on thin ice" and "a cold hearted villain"

The Europe version of LEGO Magazine did away with the contest in favor of a much more definitive ending, but I personally choose to ignore it.
My headcanon for this series is that Ogel captured Cam and Crunch during a surprise attack on Alpha HQ, and that Zed was a double-agent working for Ogel who switched sides when he learned that Alpha Team was being shut down by "the higher-ups" and feared that he'd be out of a job (the "Black Skull" minion is actually Zed's new identity). Arrow and Diamond were fresh recruits who just barely got out of basic-training in time to replace the captive agents.

Mission Deep Freeze (as the fans called) was the third and final wave of the Alpha Team line (after the first wave, and Mission Deep Sea).

No... it would've been a great show though. At the time, Lego didn't greenlight any television series' based off their toys. The only things they really had were a VHS for their Jack Stone sets and all those direct-to-video Bionicle films.... it is sad that they didn't approval of more works. Because a Johnny Thunder/Adventurers educational adventure show, an Exo-Force anime, and maybe a direct-to-video Knights; Kingdom feature would've all been good. Plus, approving now is not so good ebcause #1 TV shows are not the same anymore and #2 all the over mass-production of Lego adaptations.

I can only find a manga (comic and books) from my research... there was a promotional short, but that was only poorly made CGI short....

I am not offended by your opinion. From my memory, I only remember the 2001 line and this (I have no idea why I wasn't aware of Deep Sea... well, it may have blended in as another Aqua line), and DF seemed very... well... less AlphaTeamy.
Oh, and I forgot to mention this in the description... Lego had another/last chance to do some show or direct-to-video product for Alpha Team.... sigh... which they didn't. Oh well, that one commercial for DF is fun to watch.

That is sort of weird, yet somehow... normal, if they were going for a film series direction (e.g. Bo Peep's absence in Toy Story 3), although it makes sense when an actor/actress doesn't return. I have no idea why CamCrunch (couldn't resist saying that... sounds like a funny cereal jingle... I am a Cash.. Dam. Justaway.. supporter) were left out. The stop-motion fan videos by someone named Blake Cprde do have well-thought explanations for their absence.

Was it a sacrificial, or after defeating Ogel... a surprise death/murder? Anyway, whatever is fine with me. It's not my story, technically it's Lego's, but they didn't bother continuing it anyway...

Okay. Did Ogel die as well?
(Also, on a side note, Brickipedia stated that the symbol on Zed's shirt is Jack Stone's symbol... Jack Stone was the 4+ Lego MacGyverish character)

I never liked the redesigns for the agents and the exclusions of Cam and Crunch, but the Alpha Mode for the vehicles was a nice touch.
