This wasn’t supposed to exist, (Not planned for valentine’s Month) but somehow it came to be after watching the first two episodes of “LEGO Ninjago: Rebooted” (the 2014 revival season of Masters of Spinjitzu). A character named Pixal is introduced in the first episode, being a top-droid at Borg Industries, founded by Cyrus Borg (get it? What, I thought his name was cleaver). Anyway, the overload (who was defeated back when we thought the series had ended) has evolved into a virus and took over New Ninjago City and anything cybernetic and connected- Pixal included. Thankfully, she is brought out of her cyber-trans by the ice ninja Zane. They first met during a field trip to Borg-I (yeah, for the past years, the ninja, master Wu, Nia, and the dojo trainer have been teaching at a school). They share moments together in the second episode “The Art of the Silent Fist”, developing their friendship. In the episode, the team has to deactivate a power station, which is the only one in the land of Ninjago. After they do, Zane holds Pixal in his arms. She informs him that she didn’t tell him this because the mission was important, and she was not. Zane tries to encourage her, but accepts that she would have to remain depowered for then. Pixal then asks “We are not so different are we? We are, compatible?” with Zane agreeing yes on that, and then she turns off. I cried at the moment, it was… sigh... and I knew I had to draw this scene. In fact, I have seen another one based on this moment… Overload’s world, it has only been a few days and there is already a lot of Pixal and “ZaneXPixal” fan art on the DeviantART website. It is a great picture, well… Zane is inaccurate. I must say I love the design the creators gave Pixal (which is a cybernetic version of traditional Japanese cultural designs and clothes), and feel like getting a mini-figure of her since she is a great character.
