I'd have to say between the two, I'd pick the figure. I love the way it looks. It only has the tiny spines because the film design's large, sharp fins would be hazardous to the small children this figure was made for.

It's unfair to compare a professional maquette with a toy, but I choose the the one on the right, which I'm sure would have much more detail in the actual movie. I also like the beefed up and dinosaur-like chest, and the bigger head, along with the facial features.

The left one is my favorite cuz the right one has elephant feet, tiny wooden spines, and overly short arms.
