Coby is the Prince of Mobotropolis, the first in Sonic's bloodline, and the eldest of the Chosen Ones, the group of children prophesied to destroy Kovar. Brave, honest, and reliable, Coby is a suitable leader, though many criticize him for his heritage. He is eager to prove himself, however, and he always does what he can to help his friends, his family, and his people.

As royal custom dictates, Coby received a Royal Sword, a magical blade imbued with the power of the Chaos Emerald, at the age of 16, and began his training as a warrior. The sword is bonded to his life force, and only he can wield it. One day it may prove to be one of his greatest weapons against Kovar.

When he's not training or accompanying his friends in their adventurous excursions, Coby can often be found in the pasha stables near the palace, where he breeds and raises young steeds to become racers and war mounts. His pride and joy is a rare black pasha named Nimbus, whom he saved when he was a boy. Coby and Nimbus have a powerful bond, and sometimes it would seem that they can read each other's minds. Between all pashas and riders in Mobotropolis, there is no better pair than these two.
