This is what I love about this couple.
Although one would care to admit that Amy can be annoying at times (even I admit that sometimes, but that doesn't mean I hate her or like her any less), and that Sonic may or may not want anything to do with her... When push comes to shove, or when the situation calls for it; Sonic is not only her crush or her friend... He is part of her family as well. He shows a whole different side to Amy, we don't get this speedy and slightly cocky hedgehog when he's with her, we see Sonic, her friend, doing what he does best... being there fro his friends.

I was about to write a comment, but I realized that what you said captures my thoughts perfectly.Β Even though Sonamy is my favorite pairing, this is what I like most in the Sonamy dynamic: an Amy who isn't afraid to show moments of weakness, and a Sonic who sees Amy's need for support and offers it.Β No romance necessary.
