[2] In 1943, the Nazis made a series of arrests of Home Army conspirators in the Sanok region. Therefore, the largest organization of the Polish Resistance decided to place its agent in the Sanok Sipo-SD facility (more precisely in the Gestapo). It was Rudolf Probst because he was a Polonized German, a conspirator since 1940 and the son of a Volksdeutsch who sympathized with Poles.

[3] After Rudolf Probst, working in the Gestapo under his own name, learned that the Germans had found out about the Polish agent in the Sipo-SD facility in Sanok, he became desperate. He hid under the name "Zygmunt Panek", and then became a partisan liaison. Released from the unit due to illness in August 1944, he avoided disarmament by the Soviets (many of his colleagues continued to fight in the Polish "People's" Army). To avoid Stalinist repression, he denounced himself for being a Volsdeutsch and a Gestapo officer, and then proved in court that he was really only an agent of the Home Army and a Polish patriot
[4] In the years 1959-63, Rudolf Probst was the principal of the 1st Secondary School in Radzyń Podlaski. Because he was not a Polish United Workers' Party member, he was forced to resign and remain an ordinary teacher
