ok, made this in under 48 hours for the RPGDX 48 hour RPG making jamthe theme was 'LOFI' which I interpreted in the gameplay, I tried to include the bare minimum for an RPG and this is what came out of it.
I originally wanted to make a more traditional rpg but once I got this in my head it was too fun not to do, though I dont really think its too fun to play, but maybe some people will like it, I dont know
oh, and before anyone asks the 3D in this flash is powered by papervision.

If you hold down both left and right at the same place, you don't move at all but you still gain exp and lose hp. It's just like grinding! WHOOO!

This absolutely wins. No, it was not incredibly enjoyable to play BUT, the story was fantsastic. And, excellent nomenclature for the protagonist!

If you keep the arrow left or right, and then click on another open Internet window, the character will keep on running to that side and will stilll gain exp lol

That was the funnest game ever! And I've just been playing for two minutes. Seriously, I love this game.
I just said "Yes!" under my breath as I finally got to this one node that took me many tries to get to (the second paragraph or so of Act 2). It wasn't until then that I realized how much I was actually getting into this game.
Just to say it again, yes, this is awesome. You should consider putting it on Kongregate if you haven't already. It will totally be going into my favorites if you add it there, right next to classics like You Have to Burn the Rope, Storyteller, :the game: and I Fell in Love With the Majesty of Colors.

Indeed, the typical RPG boiled down to it's most basic elements. I could probably chew your ear off about what really makes RPGs different from one another, but you definatly hit the nail on the head to the overworked design so many of them fall into.

It would be cool if you did one that was in the same style but with branching paths. Like those old "choose your own adventure books"

I clicked outside the flash while I was running, then I couldn't stop, I clicked in and run backwards but kept running in the same spot until I run to the same side. XD
