Phobos' youngest son, the embodied fear of beasts. Kane represents the very things that go bump in the night, that creep and crawl or slither, that hunger for your flesh. Monsters themselves do well to avoid this violent and powerful young undead demi-god.

Personality: Although admittedly more bestial than his brethren Kane was always more comfortable around humans since he was raised on earth, even preferring his human form over his true drake form in most situations, he is used to hiding his true nature even from those close to him. He developed close relationships with humans due to there being almost no other drakes besides Necrosis who raised him, as a result he doesn't socialize well with other drakes. Kane is highly social by nature and what few relationships he's made and kept he holds in high regard, this devotion is matched only by his ability to hold a grudge which has been known to follow generations of humans' descendants. In his relatively short life few have crossed him and gotten away with it. Kane is a product of his time and being raised around humans hasnt helped. because of his death and resurrection he is stuck in a mid-19th century American west mentality and he is reluctant to change despite his adaptive nature. He has a great sense of pride about who and what he is as a son of Phobos making him highly arrogant, almost to a fault. Once given a task he will not stop until he has reached his goal, his pride and sense of responsibility will not let him rest until he has done so, even death has not stopped him. Despite his role as "the embodied fear of beasts" he holds no reverence to animals and rarely sees them as more than food or target practice. He has a habit of losing his head, literally and figuratively, as he is quick to anger.

abilities: Kane is an anomaly as he prefers to use wind despite his inherited access to fire and earth magic from his father, but this is likely due to the circumstances of his birth as well as the element of his unknown mother. Naturally Kane has powerful fear magic at his disposal but beyond considerably strong illusions he shows little skill in controlling it in any meaningful way like his elder siblings are known for. Kane's real power lies in his shapeshifting which is matched only by actual gods, far beyond any drake. Kane is able to take multiple controlled forms at once, grow or shrink in size, split himself into entire hordes of different terrifying beasts, and manipulate his body into any horrific forms he can think of. All the power of the animal kingdom and more are his to use as he sees fit. Kane has a natural venom which can lock the victim in a hallucinatory and paralyzed state, making them a prisoner in their own bodies. Because of the incident which brings him to the modern day, Kane is cursed with undeath and cannot be killed. Kane wields a special pistol only he can fire that channels his magic for ammunition.

History: Kane was hatched from an egg stolen from his father by his eldest brother, Necrosis, as a final act of defiance after his death at the hands of Fenris, during the fall of Phobos' kingdom. Necrosis hid both himself and the egg on earth for the better part of four million years, avoiding all contact with drakes including their own surviving family as he slowly fed the egg what little of his own magic he could to eventually allow it to hatch some time around 1780 in the newly founded United States of America. Necrosis raised Kane and his twin among humans, teaching them young how to survive on their own and remain hidden since Necrosis himself couldnt hide as well among humans as his adoptive offspring could. This resulted in Kane and his twin being perceived as orphans and street urchins as they grew up, though Necrosis was rarely far away.

As they matured the two would go their own ways without necrosis to watch over them. With his talent for hunting and tracking, Kane found easy work to support himself which eventually turned into work as a bounty hunter and gun for hire as he grew more and more experienced with people. Kane's efficiency and ruthlessness earned him infamy in the growing country, leading him to the wrong side of the law and forcing him to head west for easier living and more work as manifest destiny was at its height in this time. Kane formed a small but close knit gang from the people he would meet in his travels, even growing particularly close to his partner but still keeping his identity and interest a secret to himself. Over time Kane would become greedy, taking more and more morally questionable work and using more brazen use of his power in the process to give himself and his allies an edge in the increasingly competitive wild west.

Eventually Kane's greed and aggression would lead to him accepting a job to clear native Americans off their land for a man who wished to strip it for all it was worth and develop it for incoming settlers. Seeing it as too big and dangerous a job for their small band, Kane's gang opted out, angering Kane who felt like they were abandoning him, even his partner refused to join him despite the promises he made. Furious, Kane stormed off to do the job himself, holding none of his power back as he did so and almost decimating the entire tribe like a natural disaster. Kane's past acts had long since earned him the attention of the drake royalty and this was the final straw. As Kane terrorized the tribe, Teneb was sent to put an end to it. Kane's true identity as Teneb's younger sibling was unknown to either of them and Teneb's justice was swift as Kane had no experience dealing with other drakes, let alone fighting them. Kane lost and was beheaded before he could finish his mission and collect his reward, abandoned by those he loved, he cursed them all as the son of Phobos that he would have vengeance, his job was not done and he would see it through. Teneb, confused by this curse and the reveal of Kane's identity, fled, leaving the body where it dropped in the ruins of his victims

Unknown to Kane however was he was not alone, his partner had decided to join his friend at the last moment and followed him to their quarry. He witnessed Kane's true form and watched in horror, hidden, as Kane let loose his rage on the tribe and met his end at the hands of another drake, cursing all who abandoned him with his final breaths. He retrieved Kane's body and buried it in an abandoned mine shaft, keeping Kane's gun, and the truth, for himself. The gun would be passed down over the generations as a family heirloom, damaged and unusable, but with a warning of the curse of its owner to ensure it stays safe lest Kane return and enact his vengeance on the descendants of those who did him wrong. Necrosis, alerted to his death, would eventually find Kane's grave and resurrect his younger brother in the modern day. Now an undead revenant over 170 years after his death, Kane seeks revenge and new purpose as a loyal follower of a new employer, Naga.
