Description
I really didn't expect to like Shoujo Kageki Starlight that much, but eh, here you are.
I started this drawing all the way when the Banana episode aired (because of course!), and it took entirely, entirely too long to make. Like all super-long drawings, the result's not really up to par with the time I spent on it, but I'm still happy not to have dropped it! (which was very close to happen several times...)

Wow - That's a VERY ambition piece.Β It's good you didn't shy away from it, or stop the work.Β
Β I think because its so big with so many characters and details - it will still require more time refining.Β Β It's just that Big and demanding.Β
Β For work like this I find setting a piece down for just a little bit - not enough to lose interest or get cold to it - but enough to come back to it with a clear eyes and see overlooked aspects, is the way to go for big work.

thanks for the comment! I agree there's still much work I could make on this, but I very very rarely re-work finished piece because it would never stop and I'd never make anything new!

So true! The danger of Overworking a piece is always hanging over our heads too.Β Β
One of my favorite quotes from a sculptor is "The greatest enemy of 'good', is 'better'."Β Β Which played true one time I was sculpting this giant Olmec head for a zoo exhibit,Β where A last (and probably unnecessary) stroke of a chisel knocked out this big old chip right out of the forehead - lol
