Description
A role play between my character Riley and Ribbon-Wren 's Heidi for the group----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi closed her eyes and drew in a long breath, searching for a specific scent. Her nose crinkled in disgust as she breathed in the stench of rotting trash and filth. "How am I ever going to find anything in this smell?" she complained to her officer, though he just showed her the scent she was supposed to be tracking instead. She let out a sigh. and tried again.
Catching a very faint and stale scent, she let out a soft bark and began to pull on the lead in it's direction. She wasn't sure who she was looking for, but she knew her officer wanted her to go after it, and that's all that mattered.
Every couple of steps, Heidi paused and glanced around the area. She had never met a junkyard dog before, though she had heard vicious stories and rumours of what they might do to an unsuspecting pet.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley's lip curled in a silent snarl. Her pupils were pinpricks as they tracked the dog and human from her hiding place. What the hell were they doing here? She had been out on patrol, fully expecting it to be as boring as usual, when this cur shows up. Belly low to the ground she slunk around large piles of garbage and refuse, eyes never leaving the other dog. What was it doing, sniffing around like that? It was ridiculous. There was nothing to smell around here except more trash.
Her eyes flicked to the human and a rumble of doubt went through her. She wasn't keen on humans in the best of situations, but if something went badly and Grey found out...she shuddered inwardly at the thought. Best to try to turn them away now. With a low snarl she stalked out from where she hit, tail raised like a banner of warning as she lowered her head and stared the other dog down.
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi's head snapped up as she heard something move in front of her. To her dismay, it was in fact a junkyard faction dog. The mutt was surprisingly more well-kept than the bloodhound had expected a junkyard dog to look like, though she was still incredibly mangy and thin.
Behind her, Heidi was vaguely aware of her human trying to shoo the junkyard dog away by shouting and waving his arms. She merely ignored him.
"Don't worry about us, we're just passing through." Heidi called out to the wary dog, lowering her head and stump of a tail in an attempt to show that she meant no harm. "I'm searching for a human who has passed through here, do you happen to have seen it?"
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley snapped at the air viciously as the human tried to shoo her away, going so far as to take a step forward. Her attention returned to the dog, if that's what you could call it. She was so wrinkly Riley didn't know if it was a disease or some other mishap. She snorted in disdain and replied, "Humans don't come here and neither should pets." She said 'pets' as if it were a dirty thing not to be spoken of.
Trotting a few steps over she placed herself directly in the dog's path, fur standing on end in an attempt to look more intimidating. "You need to leave. Now." she barked the last word, slobber flying from her open mouth.
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi took a few steps backwards as the mangy dog approached her, placing herself directly in front of her human. She nearly gagged in disgust as spittle from the junkyard dog landed on her nose. Who knew what sicknesses or diseases she had? As much as Heidi hated the vet, she would much rather go see him then end up like the dog in front of her.
"We are not leaving." Heidi growled. "Either you can help us and I can go quickly, or you could just go back to whatever rubbish heap you live in and let us be." Heidi struggled to keep a calm and professional demeanor as she faced the stray. Her instincts were screaming at her to turn tail and run, but she stood her ground. Her job would be done.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
"Look lady, there aren't any humans around here 'cept the one pulling you around." Riley snapped, becoming annoyed. "I'm not letting you into the junkyard."
Please don't let anyone else see us... she thought grimly. If she couldn't prove she could handle one old dog and her human then Grey might kick her out. She couldn't let that happen. Stealing herself, she mock charged at the other dog, skidding to a stop with teeth flashing still far enough away to be out of reach.
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Scrambling backwards to avoid the sharp fangs of the opposing dog, Heidi nearly forgot to look even remotely intimidating.
"I'm not leaving!" She growled, her teeth now bared. "I smelled a human that is around here somewhere, and my nose never lies! You must have missed it passing through here." Feeling a tug on her lead, Heidi glanced up to see that her human had moved on farther into the territory, and was now prompting her to do the same. Giving the red canine a last disdainful look, she walked a wide arc around to her human before bowing her head to the ground once again.
"That dog seemed scared". Heidi tried to reassure herself as she searched for the scent once more. "She looks scary, but she wouldn't dare set a paw close to my human."
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley glared in disbelief as the human simply...walked away from her. What was she supposed to do? She was completely forbidden from harming a human. If nothing else, that would get her booted. Ears laying flat against her head in anger she charged after the dog and her human, giving them a wide berth, but following none the less.
"Hey! I'm watching you. Slip that leash and I'll make sure you never come back here again." she barked as she kept pace, now running at a low 'stalking' trot inherited from her herding parentage. If she couldn't attack and drive them away the least she could do was keep and eye on them.
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi captured the scent and began to follow at a brisk trot, keeping her ears pricked to listen to the position of the other dog. She was aware that the shepherd was following at a distance, but otherwise payed little attention to her.
The hound's pace quickened as the scent grew stronger. Soon they were standing in front of an rust frame of a vehicle, surrounded by old garbage. Whining, Heidi scratched at some trash underneath the old automobile, and a human voice faintly echoed beneath.
Her officer patted her head, said good girl, and promptly tied her to an old fence before calling backup.
"See?" She said smugly to the junkyard dog nearby, her chest swelling with pride. "There's a human here."
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley stared in disbelief at the car when a human voice came from underneath it. Her lip curled in a growl and she nearly charged the vehicle. But she held herself back and instead cautiously walked closer to the now tied up pet. "So your fat nose is good for something. Congratulations." she sneered, stinging that she hadn't known the human was in her territory.
With a furrowed glance at the human she suddenly darted in with teeth flashing and and grabbed whatever wrinkly part of the dog she could reach. She gave a quick shake and jumped back, light on her feet. Licking some blood off her teeth she snarled savagely and said, "You're lucky that damn human is here or you'd get a lot worse for trespassing."
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi yelped more so in surprise than pain when the junkyard dog attacked her. The bloodhound had grown confident, perhaps a little too confident that the opposing dog would not dare to harm her. Glancing back at her human, she briefly considered alerting him of the danger. He would show the mangy stray who had the upper hand! She dismissed the thought however, as she realized that the action would seem weak. Instead, she simply sat down and attempted to seem nonchalant about the matter.
"You're still scared of my human, are you?" She responded, wincing as her harness rubbed against the new injury. "I heard junkyard dogs weren't afraid of anything. I guess I was wrong."
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley sneered and snorted in disdain. "It's your human who should be afraid of me. He's lucky we have rules against harming humans or he'd be the new Junkyard chew toy." Riley drawled nonchalantly, examining the nails on one of her paws. "I'm running out of patience, pet. Take your human and get outta here." she growled and positioned herself for another quick nip if necessary. The longer these two were here, the higher the chance another dog would notice. No, Riley had to handle this alone.
----------
Ribbon-Wren said the following:
Heidi tried her best to hide her surprise upon hearing that the junkyard dogs actually had a sort of rule system, but she was sure that her eyes must have given away her thoughts. Sure, she knew they had some sort of hierarchy, but she had no idea that the Junkyarders all actually abided to laws like the Pets or Farm Dogs factions.
"I don't need you to tell me what to do or when to leave." Heidi growled, her hackles rising. "Don't think that you could just boss me-" She stopped mid sentence as her human came up beside her and patted her on the head.
"Good girl." He said, picking up her leash.
As he began to walk back out from the junkyard towards their van, Heidi kept her eyes glued on the Junkyard dog, and never strayed more than a metre away from her owner. If she so much as dared to touch her human.... The bloodhound bared her teeth at the thought.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Riley slunk further away as the human came closer, growling lowly at him. She kept her eyes glared at Heidi as the pair began to make their leave. She prowled after them at a trot, head low and threatening as she 'herded' them away from the junkyard. "You better hope I never catch you around here without your human." she barked her threat.
With a skip and a jump she landed on top of some old car tires and looked down on the other dog from her new height. "Next time I see your face, it'll be the last time you have one!" she howled after them before falling into a steady stream of loud barks.

Ah, that's weird, I'm sorry! I haven't gotten any notes from you in a while so I figured this was done. I wonder why it didn't go through?
But it was still a really fun rp.

Huh. Odd. Sometimes my notes save as a draft when I click send, and then they don't go through. I should probably be more thorough in checking that they actually send and don't just save. Oh well, no harm done!
It was! ^^
