Introverted: Hyzenthlay prefers quiet, personal time to group activities. She finds the company of other dogs rather draining and needs to recharge after being with them for an extended period. She does like other dogs (she tends to see the good in everyone), but she'd much rather be off on her own most of the time.

Withdrawn: Other dogs think she is very shy, but really Hyzenthlay is terribly withdrawn. She finds it extremely difficult to open up to others and share her thoughts/feelings. She can become flustered easily if put on the spot and would rather stay toward the back and listen than offer her own opinion. Some dogs might think she's "blank" or "dull", but it's because they don't know her very well.

Excitable: If you happen to land on a topic or idea that Hyzenthlay enjoys, she can become quickly animated. She basically blossoms before your eyes and turns into a different dog. Sometimes this can lead to "manic" episodes of hyper activity that quickly exhaust her. But a nice, quiet walk by herself perks her back up.

Compassionate: Despite her cooler exterior, Hyzenthlay has a LOT of feelings, and she feels them strongly. She really does believe everyone has good inside of them and can very, very easily put herself in another dog's or animal's "shoes". This can definitely be a weakness as she can be easily taken advantage of due to her caring capabilities.

Loyal: Maybe she doesn't always give her trust to the right dog, but when she does, it's very strong. Unfortunately for Hyzenthlay, her loyalty is very easily gained and not easily broken. She'll defend her friends (however few and far between they are) until the end, despite potential downfalls to herself.

Driven: Again, when you've landed on the right topic or if she gets a certain idea in her head, Hyzenthlay lights up. She is extremely persistent in achieving her goals, whatever they may be, and will push herself past the point of exhaustion to obtain them. She becomes outspoken, stubborn, and insistent when she truly believes in something.

Backstory: Hyzenthlay has never known the warmth of a hearth or the kind touch of a human. She was born a stray to a too-young mother and had many siblings. Her father didn't want anything to do with them. The small family eked out a living on the streets, their mother running herself ragged to provide for her puppies. Her mother even bargained with the rats and birds of the town, exchanging objects of interest for scraps of food or directions to a fresh garbage pile. Hyzenthlay was fascinated by her mother's ingenuity and came to see the "vermin" of the city as her friends and allies, an extended family. One tragic day, her mother was fatally struck by a car and the siblings had to fend for themselves. Despite her best efforts, Hyzenthlay was unable to keep the broken family together and has since lost touch with all of them. Determined not to let life get the better of her, Hyzenthlay continued her mother's alliance with the other animals of the city and has built quite a network for herself as she has grown. Other dogs look down on her for "colluding with lesser animals", but she could care less. Let them talk. Hyzenthlay has now grown into a young adult and walks the streets of Canidale with moderate confidence.
