Description A role play between myself and featuring our characters Rikki, Savoy, Evita, and Keeva for .

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"Dad, stop, I can groom myself!" Savoy snapped as she fought to wriggle out of her massive father's embrace.

"If you can do it yourself now, why do you always look like some vagabond stray?" Rikki retorted, exerting little effort in keeping his daughter still.

Savoy growled and nipped at Rikki's paw. It didn't hurt, not really, but it surprised a growl out of him none the less. Savoy leapt up and loped quickly into the woods, away from what she was sure were disappointed looks from her father and mother.

Rikki looked after her, ready to give chase, but heaved a sigh and settled back down, looking over to his mate with a sad look. "I don't know what to do with that girl." he muttered to himself.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Keeva sat smirking as she watched her father grooming her sister, placing a paw up to her muzzle to stifle a giggle, and also to avoid having either parent notice and suddenly realize she needed a grooming too. After a bit of arguing, Savoy managed to escape and raced off to the woods. Her ears perked forward and she quickly launched herself after her sister, not wanting her to get into any adventures without her.

"They're growing up." Evita noted quietly as she watched the two juvenile wolves lope away and into the woods. She nestled in beside her mate, still looking at the nearby line of trees. She was beginning to miss when they were younger and didn't mind spending time with herself and Rikki.

Keeva had caught up with Savoy quickly and the smirk returned to her face as she bounced along beside her sister. "Have a nice groom?"

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Rikki sighed again, resting his head on his paws. "I suppose you're right..." he said after a long moment. "Doesn't make it any easier though."

Savoy had finally stopped running and flopped down on a small pile of leaves, grumbling incoherently to herself. She was so focused on being miserable that she didn't even hear or smell her sister until she smoke. Savoy jumped and immediately glared angrily at Keeva. "Shut up. You look like a dead raccoon." she snapped defensively, tail curling around her paws as she fought to regain any dignity.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Evita nodded, her eyes shifting to glance over at her mate. "It must be from your side of the family." She deduced simply, although she was certain as a juvenile she was just as equally rebellious as Keeva and Savoy. Perhaps with a better attitude, though.

Keeva let out a hearty laugh before her eyes narrowed on her sister. "Well, that doesn't change the fact that you look like a vagabond stray." She sat down beside Savoy, tall and proud, casually observing the trees around them as she did. "I like this season. It's dark." The trees around them either had leaves in shades of red and orange or had no leaves at all, standing starkly black against the gray autumn sky. She glanced down to Savoy to see her reaction.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Rikki snorted and rolled over onto his side, grabbing Evita with his huge paws and pulling her over with him. "Yeah. My side of the family. Because you were a perfect pup, right?" he fake growled, grabbing onto her ear.

Savoy snorted, choosing not to answer the 'vagabond stray' comment. Her father could think whatever he wanted of her. She didn't care. At least thats what she told herself...

Savoy looked up at the brilliant display of color in the canopy and snorted, looking back at her sister, who still sat taller than her. Savoy pushed down the surge of jealousy and replied, "You call this 'dark'? It's like a rainbow up there."

----------
warpugs said the following:

Evita shot Rikki a playful look. "If I recall correctly, you did not know me as a pup, Rikki. I was an angel." She looked up at him with innocent eyes and a wide smile. "My father and brothers would say the same, and my mother would too if she were still around to say it." She nodded as firmly as she could with him latched onto her ear.

"A rainbow of black, red and orange? Right." Keeva rolled her eyes with a snort at her sister. "You must be forgetting all the flowers of summer." She huffed a bored sigh now, shifting her weight from side to side where she sat. "So are we going to get up to some mischief now or would you prefer to continue moping here?"

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Rikki grunted a short laugh from around Evita's ear. "Angel. I'm sure." he replied with another laugh, finally letting go of her ear and flopping back in the cool dirt, hugging his mate's body close to his.

Savoy grumbled, clearly annoyed. "I didn't say it was a pretty rainbow." she sighed, wondering why she had to suffer. Her ears flicked back when her sister said she was moping. "I am not moping. I'm...contemplating." she replied with a dismissive sniff. "And you're interrupting me."

----------
warpugs said the following:

An annoyed and impatient growl rumbled in Keeva's throat. Why couldn't Savoy just do what she wanted to do? "Oh come on." She rolled her eyes and huffed out another sigh. She was determined to do some exploring today and not by herself. "Can't you contemplate while we explore?" She heard some crows cawing in the distance and her ears twisted in their direction, her eyes boring into Savoy's with intense impatience.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Savoy gave a tortured sigh. "If you're not going to leave me alone, then fine." she grumbled, only half wishing her sister would let her be. "What exactly are we supposed to be exploring today?" she asked, half bitterly. They'd explored just about every inch of the area surrounding their den site. Their father said they'd be moving on once the cold really set in, an exciting thought. But until then they'd have to find ways to entertain themselves over land they knew all too well.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Keeva grinned wickedly as her sister finally agreed to accompany her on an adventure. She hopped up and began padding off further into the woods. "Well, I overheard a pair of foxes talking of a place the other day. I figured we'd go check it out." She said with a shrug. She navigated through the woods, back to the spot where she had first seen the foxes, which happened to be a stream. If she recalled correctly, they had said to just follow upstream and it would take you to the location, so that's exactly where she led Savoy. After a bit of walking, they came upon a large, rumbling waterfall. "This must be it." Keeva said, mostly to herself. She padded around the pool that formed at the base of the falls and studied the rocks that led to the falling water. She tilted her head back and forth before leaping forward and landing on one of the large rocks. She continued hopping until she had disappeared into the falls, leaving Savoy behind at the waters bank.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Savoy stood and followed her sister slowly, grumbling the whole way. When they reached the falls she turned to her sister with a dead pan expression. "Are you kidding? I don't want to get wet." But Keeva didn't listen and was already hopping along the rocks.

With another huge sigh and flattened ears she attempted to easily hop the rocks as well. Her back paw slipped and slid into the water with a yelp. Pulling herself out she scrabbled her way back onto the rock and hurried to follow her clearly-more-graceful sister.

"This better be worth it or I'm chewing your tail off." she growled sullenly.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Behind the waterfall was a cave, seemingly normal-looking at first. Keeva followed the path of the cave down, everything growing darker and darker, until suddenly the cave opened up and everything was a bit brighter. A pool of water that was a brilliant shade of blue lay before her and above white stalagmites that held a hint of a glint to them, much like crystals. Keeva gave a triumphant "hmph!" and looked over her shoulder, awaiting her sisters arrival.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Savoy stumbled through the darkness, stubbing every toe on every paw, before finally tripping into the wide chamber. She blinked a few times to adjust her eyes before staring in awe at all the glinting light and colors. Her jaw snapped shut with an audible clack of teeth and she looked to her sister with a bemused smirk. "Alright, this is kind of amazing." she admitted.

----------
warpugs said the following:

"Foxes are a very reputable source for places to explore." Keeva decided. They must also be creatures who enjoyed exploring. "So," Keeva said, dipping a paw into the still water, causing ripples to cascade across the waters surface. "Are we going to go swimming, or should we continue along those rocks over there?" She looked to a rocky ledge that edged the water.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Savoy hummed in thought. "I say both. Yes. Definitely both." she finally said sagely with another smirk. With one oversized paw she pushed her sister in the small pool, causing ripples to race across the water. She broke out in laughter and pranced along the rocks in triumph before slipping and splashing into the pool.

aww thank you! I'm sure they'll be visiting their new hideout a lot in the coming months.

Poor Evita has to deal with the grumpiest wolf of them all--two emo puppies are nothing
