Description
A role play for between Buk( ) and Mystic( )!----------
warpugs said the following:
It was a dreadfully dull and quiet afternoon as Buk padded through the snow alongside a river, following its path for no particular reason. Everything just seemed gray and dull to him. The sky was a dull off-white, the trees surrounding the area black and bare, and even the river appeared to flow a dark brown-black color. Buk was clearly unimpressed with this land he had stumbled upon and he walked as if the snow beneath him was tainted. As if he were too good for this place.
He held his head high in a very regal manner, ears cupped forward as he scanned the area for any redeemable factor. Finding none he huffed, his breath puffing out in front of him. Perhaps he disliked this place so much because of his distaste for this freezing weather. He wasn't much of a winter wolf, preferring the warmer climates of spring and summer. His coat did get thicker in the winter but still seemed a bit thin in comparison to most other wolves who seemed to grow such thick fluffy coats.
He soon reached a fork in the river and grumbled to himself, glancing around in search of a spot to cross.

Mystic loped happily through the snow, eyes half lidded against the flurries kicked up in her wake. This was her kind of weather. She'd spent weeks heading back north after a quick foray south. There'd been hardly any snow and she felt as though she was roast inside her own coat. Now she skidded to a halt and stretched before letting herself fall over with a muffled thud and wriggled happily in the powder. She stood once she was satisfied with her roll and gave her coat a hearty shake.
"Oh? What's this...?" she mumbled to herself as she realized there were wolf tracks nearby. She sniffed at them and followed curiously, head and tail held regally high. Obviously any wolf to meet her was honored so she carried herself with righteous pride.
It wasn't long before she saw the wolf who'd made the tracks. A handsome, if rather fur-bare, male. Of course she considered most wolves this far south to have lacking coats. "Well hello there!" she called out cheerily, tossing her legs out to their full length as she trotted his way, kicking snow in every direction.

warpugs said the following:
Buk had just spotted some rather large rocks to hop across the river on when he heard a voice call to him from behind. He turned around and spotted the female wolf prancing towards him. His brows raised for a moment as he watched her. Finally something, or someone, interesting. And a pretty female at that.
A very charismatic wolf, he could change his attitude very quickly. No longer was he the cranky wolf that had been grumbling at the river a minute prior.
"Hello!" He called back in a friendly manner, an amused smile on his muzzle. She didn't seem to mind the snow one bit and as she got closer Buk noticed her incredibly thick coat. She was definitely from the North.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
"You see a little far north, wouldn't you think?" Mystic said in a sing-song voice. She trotted closer to the male, entirely breaking his personal bubble, and sniffed at his fur before nimbly trotting away again. "What brings a little red wolf like yourself to these parts, hmm?" she asked, slowing her pace but still circling around and appraising.
He was tall, she'd give him that. And his coat was rather striking. She liked the red hues and how they made his eyes pop. All in all not a half bad looking male. She hoped he'd prove interesting in aspects other than looks. Though aesthetics were half the package, right? Regardless, she'd take this time to indulge and enjoy herself.
----------
warpugs said the following:
"I suppose so." Buk shrugged nonchalantly at her initial question, raising a brow as she sniffed at his coat. It was odd behavior for a complete stranger but he didn't dwell on it.
He sat down in the snow as she circled around him, not watching her as she went but staring straight forward and only looking at her as she passed. He snorted to himself in amusement as she called him "little". He may have been slim, but he was much taller than she was. "Oh, I'm just doing a bit of travelling." He didn't care to get into his past or where he came from with strangers, he preferred to remain more mysterious. But his regal manner tended to give away at least one part of his history.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Mystic pouted when the male refused to play her game. Oh well. She quit circling and seated herself in the snow across from him, short tail wrapping over her toes. "Traveling? This time of year? Don't most loners hunker down for the winter?" she questioned with a tilt of her head.
She eyed the male critically and her brow quirked, curiosity piqued even further. "My, you do sit very pretty, don't you?" she cooed with a coy grin.
----------
warpugs said the following:
Buk grinned at the pretty female seated before him. "Well I guess I'm not like most loners then! I just get bored easily." He explained with another shrug.
He raised his muzzle at her last remark and looked down his nose at her, studying her, before ignoring her comment entirely and lowering his head once more. "I take it you live in these parts then?" He glanced around the area they were in. Honestly with a coat as thick as hers, he'd expect her to be living much farther North.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Mystic's lip twitched as the male avoided her question. She'd let it slide for now. "No, I guess you can say I'm not a typical loner either." she sighed, looking around the barren clearing. "I've just come back from down south. Weathers much nicer here." she grinned placidly and stared at the male, openly studying him.
"What about you? Planning on finding a nice den and moving in?"
----------
warpugs said the following:
Buk's ears cupped forward at the mention of the weather, further South was where he wanted to be. "I much prefer the warmer weather myself."
At her question he snorted with a laugh. She was proving to be quite amusing. "Pah! Not a chance. I've left that life behind. For now, at least." He stood and shook the snow out of his coat. "Now, I intend on crossing this river. Care to join me?" He moved towards the bank of the spot where he had seen the large rocks to hop across, not looking back to see if she was following.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
"Hmm...no." Mystic replied, rising and trotting off with a flick of her tail. "Though I'm headed in this direction anyway. I prefer the easier, less slippery, way across." she called over her shoulder.
She loped easily further down the riverbank until it began to narrow slightly. It didn't take more than a minute or two for her to find the newly fallen tree that spanned the river. Mystic figured it must've come down in the last snow storm. It was a wide, other wise sturdy trunk that hadn't had time to soften and rot in the cold and wet. She easily hopped up onto it and danced her way across, paying little attention to the clumps of snow that plummeted to their doom below. With a skip she landed on the other side and trotted happily with her head and tail up.
----------
warpugs said the following:
Buk's eyes narrowed slightly as he watched her lope away, her figure growing smaller as she got further and further down the river. "Suit yourself." He grumbled, annoyed that she wouldn't just follow him. He wasn't terribly surprised though, lots of the loner females he had met seemed to be pretty independent and prefer to make their own path or do things their own way rather than just follow after him.
He turned back to the river and hopped onto the first large rock. He had no problem landing on it as this one was dry. He gave a small smile and hopped onto the second rock. He slipped a bit on the landing, the toes of his back paws dipping into the icy water. Quickly he made a leap for the other side before he could fumble any longer and risk having the female see him.
The untouched snow crunched beneath his large paws as he landed on the other side of the river. He straightened up and looked down the river and watched as the female began to make her way towards him.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Mystic trotted up to the male wolf and gave a chuckle. "I see you made it across unscathed." she commented, doing another circle around him. Slowing her pace she headed off in a seemingly random direction, picking her legs up high to clear the deeper snow on this side of the river. "So, you're just exploring? Sounds fun." she said over her shoulder as she walked, not particularly caring if he was actually following or not.
----------
warpugs said the following:
"Yes, hardly slippery at all." Buk responded with a smile. He watched as she began to trot away and considered whether or not to follow her when she continued speaking. He supposed he had to now. He padded after her, wondering where exactly she was going. He inwardly sighed as the snow on this side of the river was deeper and he had to exert more energy just to move through it. He was glad for his height at moments like this.
"Just exploring." He repeated as he looked around at the dark, bare trees lining their path. "It's great." He really did enjoy the change of scenery and new faces and hadn't yet missed pack life.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
"Well I know somewhere fun." Mystic chirped over her shoulder as she bounded through the snow. She pushed on without caring if the male would follow, letting her nose lead the way. The snow was slowly beginning to become less deep again as the forest thinned out around them and gave way to small shrubs and scrub. Mystic loped easily up a gradual incline and gave a small leap over the crest, taking in a deep breath of salty air. She glanced back with a grin and trotted out onto the cool sand, the sound of crashing waves and seagulls dominating her senses.
----------
warpugs said the following:
"Oh lovely." Buk responded, ears perking forward. He was definitely glad as the snow grew less deep, happily prancing after her. He followed after her at his own pace though, as she picked hers up to go up the incline and leap over the crest he continued on at his prance. He stopped at the top of the incline, watching as she trotted out onto the sand. He rose a brow, looking over the beach.
He trotted up beside her with an impressed nod. "Well, I can definitely say I'm pleasantly surprised." It was definitely warmer out in the open on the beach, despite the wind, than it was back in the bare forest of snow.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Mystic sighed in content as she let the beach sounds and smells comfort her. "Ah, now this is scenery." she commented as she began to trot closer toward the water. She stopped in the cold, wet sand and waited for the water to come closer before dancing away again, head quickly darting in to grab a pretty little shell before it was washed away. She pranced happily with the shell between her jaws, tossing her head and the shell before snapping it back up again.
She sauntered back to the male and looked at him with a half-lidded gaze. She placed the shell in the sand before him and nudged it gently with her paw. "A trinket for a name?" she asked coyly.
----------
warpugs said the following:
Buk had to admit, beaches were always among his favorite places to be. He watched as she trotted to the water and retrieved a shell, loping back with it and placing it at his paws. He eyed it almost dubiously for a moment before looking back to Mystic with a half-smile. "Buk." He studied the shell for a moment longer before padding off, almost disappearing in a dune before returning at a regal prance to her with something in his muzzle.
He placed a sand dollar gently at her paws and promptly sat again, a small grin on his muzzle. "And you would be?"
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
Mystic's brow arched as the wolf, Buk now, trotted off around the dunes. For a moment she thought he had just run off and she began to feel annoyance creep into her chest. But he came back soon enough, a little sand dollar in his teeth. She couldn't help but laugh and awarded him with a pretty grin. "Mystic." she replied. "My friends call me Misty, at least they would if I had any friends." she added with a joking twitch of her tail.
----------
warpugs said the following:
"A she-wolf like yourself without any friends? I don't believe it." Buk smirked and joked back, leaning towards her slightly to peer into her green eyes. "Pretty name, though. Most fitting." He leaned back on his haunches again, looking out to the waves as they crashed along the shore. This area was very peaceful, but he felt he would enjoy it better if it were Summer.
----------
sourlemonfox said the following:
"Well thank you, sir." Mystic said with flourish, bowing her head slightly toward Buk. The sun was warm on their fur without the trees to shade them and Mystic found herself rather content. With a smile more closely resembling a smirk she added, "We'll have to go swimming once it's warmer."
