Description Role play between sourlemonfox and warpugs featuring our characters Mystic and Buk for the group

The world was completely white as Buk pressed slowly through the snow. It fell in large, fast clumps from the sky, obscuring his vision any further than what was directly in front of him. The wind was strong, whipping the snow into his face and stinging his eyes. He blinked through it and kept his eyes narrowed, ears completely flat against his head. His coat, in all his life, had never grown terribly thick for winter. He just clearly wasn't built much for this type of weather. He huffed in annoyance. He needed to find shelter, but the weather was making it particularly difficult.

By the time he made it to a line of trees skirting the woods, his coat was well dusted in a layer of snow. He shook off, but when he entered the trees they barely provided any covering as they were all bare. It was rare times like these that he actually found himself missing pack life. With packmates there was never a shortage of warm bodies to keep warm and dry with during any type of storm.

sourlemonfox said the following:

Mystic lay in her small den beneath the roots of a large tree. She'd dug it out herself, expanding on the badger hole it had originally been. Outside was turning into quite the winter storm. Mystic huddled down further into the earth, sighing in contentment. She gazed out at the white world, enjoying the snow, when she saw a figure wandering closer. She narrowed her eyes to see through the haze and groaned. Of all the wolves to be caught outside in the storm.

Mystic crawled on her belly and squeezed out of the den, giving a bark to get Buk's attention. "Hey stretch, over here!" she called to be heard over the wind. She gestured with her head to the den and turned to wriggled her way back in. She sighed. Sometimes she was just the nicest wolf.

----------
warpugs said the following:

A voice carried to him on the wind and he instantly recognized it. She would have a den out here. She would be the one to spot him through the snow. He was cursing his luck, momentarily debating if he should stay out in the snow and pretend he hadn't heard her or go into Mystic's den and deal with her no doubt smug attitude over what she would probably call 'saving' him from the blizzard. Ultimately, the need for shelter from the storm won out, and he found himself trudging to her den, hoping he'd made the right decision in the end.

Buk studied the opening for a moment before he shook off and lowered his body, squeezing through its entrance and into the heart of the den. His body was instantly warmer as he entered, though the snow that had clung to his fur had left it rather damp now that it melted. Once he was in and settled, being sure to not lay down too close to Mystic, he said a simple "Thanks."

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Mystic smiled toothily at Buk. "Cozy?" she purred, scooching her body closer to his. What could be better than making her favorite male uncomfortable during a blizzard? She couldn't think of anything. Her green eyes shifted from his face to the small opening of the den. She watched as clouds of snow went whipping past and listened to the low drone of the wind. It was really a mess out there. Not for the first time this winter, she was glad of her thick coat. She preferred not to think about the coming spring and summer.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Buk muttered a "Hm." in return to her question. She sidled up next to him and he rested his head on his paws, looking away from her. He didn't have to speak to her, right? His eyes drifted up to the entrance of the den and he watched as the wind whistled, carrying snow back and forth. The curve at the opening prevented the snow and wind from landing on them at least. He couldn't wait for winter to be over and to have the warmer temperatures of all the other seasons back.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"Hmm indeed." she muttered back haughtily. Well, he was certainly an ungrateful one. "I invite you into my den out of the goodness of my heart and all I get is a 'hmm'?" She was working herself into a real temper now. Why, she had half a mind to kick him out.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Buk raised his head, his ears twisting back. Mystic was getting worked up and he knew what that would lead to. He wasn't about to get thrown back out into that blizzard! He gave a short laugh and turned to look at her, a pleasant grin spreading across his muzzle. "Of course not. How have you been, dear? You've made quite the nice den for yourself here." He paused to look around the den. "It's pretty large too; are you expecting or something?" He was speaking in jest and his grin turned into a smirk as he looked playfully towards her fluffy stomach.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Mystic knew Buk was playing her but warmed and softened anyway. Who could turn away such nice praise? But then he had to jest and look pointedly at her stomach. Did she truly look that large? It was only fur! Fighting down her temper and the desire hide her tummy, she purred jokingly, "Why, are you ready to be a father?"

Of course she wasn't expecting. The very nerve. "I prefer a larger den so that I can host wayward souls like yourself." she amended with a sniff, feeling very kind and even devout. She really was a wonderful wolf. And if those wayward souls were always handsome, single males...well, all the better.

----------
warpugs said the following:

The thought of having children made him snort and he turned away from her again. There wasn't much about pups he found appealing, although he supposed sometimes they were fun to play around with if he was in a particularly jolly mood. He glanced back over to her at her next comment and he dipped his head slightly towards her. "Well, I'm much obliged." He wondered if she would hold the same hospitality towards a female, or if Buk himself had been traveling with a female.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"Hmm, as you should be." she quipped happily, nestling herself more comfortably against him.

"What kind of trouble have you gotten yourself into since we last parted?" she asked, genuinely curious. She hardly ever met with the same male as many times as she had Buk. She imagined most males were devastated for life after leaving her company. Unfortunately Buk seemed to be doing just fine. It miffed Mystic to know he was living his life seemingly comfortably without her.

----------
warpugs said the following:

"Trouble?" Buk questioned, tilting his head to the side and turning to face her again. "What makes you think I'm some sort of trouble-maker?" A devilishly playful grin spread across his muzzle as his eyes met hers. Thinking about it, this blizzard was the most trouble he had gotten himself into since... probably the last time he had been around Mystic. She was the one who was trouble.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"Ooh, I do like that smile of yours." Mystic crooned, giving her own devilish grin in return. "So your life has been terribly boring without me? What a shame." she put on a pouty face and 'tsked' with her tongue shaking her head sadly.

----------
warpugs said the following:

The compliment certainly lifted his spirits a bit, until he heard her next comment. Buk rolled his eyes, though the amused smile was still spread across his muzzle. "I know it must be hard to believe that the world does continue on for others when you're not around, but do try."

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

"Ooh, but I'd rather not." she grumbled in a pouty voice. "I prefer my own way of thinking, thank you very much." she informed him.

A gust of wind blew more snow across the opening of the den and Mystic stared at it unhappily. Just how long were they going to be stuck in here? She hoped not too long. With a sigh she laid her head on her paws and looked up at Buk.

"I have a few voles stored away at least." she said, trying to sound cheery.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Buk's eyes grew dull at her statement, but he still found himself rather amused. He felt a slight breeze and looked toward the entrance of the den. Soon the snow might be covering the opening and he wondered just how long they'd be stuck together.

He turned to look back over at her at the mention of the voles. "Oh really?" He said, his tone implying that he was hungry and wouldn't mind having one now.

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Mystic wrinkled her nose in amusement at Buk's hungry tone. Males. With a little wriggle she moved further into the den and grabbed something small in her mouth. Crawling on her belly she returned to his side and held a small, cold vole up to him. Her eyes twinkled with amusement, refusing to drop the vole for him to pick up.

----------
warpugs said the following:

Buk smiled as she turned to find a vole for him, but when she turned back around she held onto it. He watched her in silence for a moment, thinking over what to do, before he leaned forward, looking into her amused eyes as he gingerly took the vole from her. He pulled away with it, eyeing her for a moment before he bit into it, placing it between his paws so he could rip at the flesh to get to the bits he wanted. Voles were more like a snack than a meal, but he was grateful for anything in this situation. As he lay beside Mystic, in her den and eating one of her voles, he began to realize she really had saved his butt from this blizzard.

He licked some blood from his lips and looked up at her, his head still lowered near the vole. "Thank you, Mystic." He said, pausing for a moment before he continued so she knew he was serious. "Really."

----------
sourlemonfox said the following:

Mystic watched him eat the vole with a scrunched face. Did he have to tear at it like that? Males had no manners. She laid her head back down and decided to watch the snow instead of Buk's eating habits. She had to admit she was happy for his company. Even with her thick winter coat it had been a little chilly in her small den. Now it was practically toasty.

"Pardon?" she stammered when she realized Buk had spoken. She lifted her head when she realized he was genuinely thanking her. She couldn't detect any biting sarcasm in his words. "Oh...well, it is my pleasure." she replied warmly with a kind smile. He really wasn't so bad after all.
