The sun was warm across her back as Mariposa trotted through the fine sand. It shifted in a familiar way against her hooves with each step and spurned her to go faster. Her long tail lashed behind her in excitement. She was really doing it! She was setting off on her own! Her parents had argued vehemently with her leaving, making Mari roll her eyes as she went. She knew the only real reason they wanted her to stay was because of her rare coloration. She would make “excellent breeding stock” within the herd and hopefully pass her rare anomaly down to any offspring. Momentarily bittered by the thought, her ears pinned back and she pushed herself to move even faster. The more distance she could put between herself and that awful herd, the better!
Her mood soon improved as she felt her body working up a rich lather of sweat, muscles working hard and heart beating fast. She reveled in the simple pleasure of movement and her own strength and grace. She was a young, strong mare and she was going to make something fine out of herself. Mariposa hardly knew where she was going or where she would end up, but that was the best part of all--the complete unknown. All of Sekoya lay at her hooves, and she meant to explore every part of it.

Odd Fruit
With the herd of jerks further and further behind her Mariposa, she was well on her way towards adventure. its unlikely though that she was expecting only of a culinary kind.
when she found the fruit she wasn't even sure it was fruit...what even? it looked like a banana but those weren't typically purple and there was no tree or obvious place it could have come from what the heck?

Right next to the odd fruit Mariposa found a wooden disk...no not a disk as she looks closer she sees it is in fact a sekoya chip. Even better: theres more of them scattered around in the grass! after a quick search Mariposa finds she is 65 chips better off!
