Patient-->if Kenai has a temper, no one has ever seen it. When he isn't goofing around or racing he is a very cool and quiet dog. Of course this can get a little annoying if you're trying to argue a point or goad him--he'd be that guy who'd just nod and be all, 'but WHY do you feel like that?' So some dogs may find him infuriating.

Kind-->Kenai is a genuinely nice dog. He doesn't see the point in being rude or quarrelsome. He treats others as well (usually better) than he expects to be treated, hoping some day someone will return the favor if he's ever in need of help.

Loyal and Willing-->Undyingly loyal to his team, friends, and family. He takes great pride in being a wheel dog for The Tombstone Cowboys and sees his team as extended family. Even if he doesn't always get along with everyone, he still loves them to pieces and would do anything for them. This can make him appear frightening to dogs on the 'outside' who don't know him very well. His large, muscled exterior can be very intimidating if he deigns the need.

'Lazy'-->If he has 'the day off', you can bet he'll take full advantage of it. Kenai looooves napping in warm, sunny spots or rolling around in some nice snow. Sometimes it can take some effort to get him up and moving when he's one of these moods, but once he's up, he's up. Kind of like that Newton law...an object at rest tends to stay at rest and vice versa or whatever? That's Kenai.

Goof-->Kenai loves to romp, roll, and rough house. His purple tongue is usually flopping in the breeze as he rolls around Nome. He'll resort to begging team members to play with him and can be pretty relentless if he decides to take the bit by the teeth. Or the harness by the chest...? Or something? Metaphors.

Hard Working-->Despite his typical lazy, goofball ways, all of that is pushed aside and forgotten when it's time to go to work. Kenai will give 110% until he drops. He wants nothing more than to do the best for his team as he can and make his musher proud. And he might like showing off sometimes for the ladies...

Optimistic-->The bowl will eternally be half full for this guy. I'm not sure he even knows how to complain.

Gentle Giant-->While he loves to wrestle and play he is very aware of his size and does everything he can to ensure he doesn't accidentally hurt anyone. He especially loves children and will always submit to a good ear scratching and doesn't mind being mobbed and climbed on.

Protective-->Just don't mess with his friends or his stuff or anything else he considers important. I don't even know what would happen to you if you actually managed to piss this guy off. Just...don't do it. Srsly.

Background: Kenai was born in a smaller fishing village, many miles away from Nome. No one is quite sure what exact breeds are in Kenai. It's certain he's part husky and seems to obviously have some chow in him based on his purple-tinted tongue. Regardless of his parentage and lineage he was always raised with the expectation of being a great sled dog. His large, muscular build and endurance instantly marked him out as potential when he was very young. Kenai wanted nothing more than prove himself and make others proud and so he threw himself into training with a forceful will. Often he’d have to be physically contained to prevent him from over exerting himself.
While in his small village he was used mainly for mail deliveries as well as small excursions to other nearby villages to move goods and supplies. Though used to working in a pair or by himself, his naturally friendly and easy going personality made it plain to see he could do well on a larger team. After arriving in Nome he was quickly picked up by a racing team known as The Tombstone Cowboys as a wheel dog. Though a little sad to leave his simple, quiet life behind, Kenai looks forward to working along side his other team mates.
