The AR-300 "Defender". Or M299 "Sheridan", or Romanov ADR, or G-191 "Shwartzwald", or Type-301 "Dragon". Or many other name for endless variationes of the same design.
Started out centuries before current time, in the regions of Philippines, Old Earth, by some already unnamed local weapon manufacturing company, that came with rather ingenious design and willingly not patented it altogether, as said "preferring open competition"
This open source design was then improved by many gunsmiths and companies, adopted by many armies and militias and had a rich history of distinguished service as military, police, and civilian rifle.
As the Defender AR-300 is nowadays (the name is generic - weapon design is long in public domain and free to copy by any weapons manufacturers, so copies variants are produced by various manufacturers both on Old Earth and human colonies across the Galaxy, even some alien races do make variants of this rifle).
Regardless of manufacturer, if manufactured with decent quality (rather easy fit - since weapon in its basic form could be 3-D printed in entirety using moden 31-st century A.D. industial-grade 3-D printers) it's robust and reliable under field and combat condition, as well as accurate and modular in design select-fire (semi-auto only variants are produced for civilian uses) gas-operated air-cooled automatic rifle.
The rifle usually weights around 3-3,5 kg dependent on caliber and barrel lenght and could be chambered for variety of cartridges, including 7,62x45mm Earth-standard and .338 Short rifle round.
