Description This sword took about 1 month to do, though I was distracted with other props, such as making 2 Marceline Bass Guitars.

I used the Kirito profile pic on the wiki as the main reference. I followed the details as closely as possible to the original. The scabbard will be done, but most likely in a couple of weeks when I complete Asuna's Light Lambent.

I will be doing a full write up/guide on my website soynutsprops.com in the near future. You can also see progress pics on my FB Fan page: facebook.com/SoynutsProps.

How much did this cost to make?

Hmmm, it is a bit hard to quantify with everything I used, such as the silicone and smooth cast 300 that I buy in gallon containers as I use it for multiple projects.

If I had to give a ballpark estimate, for wood, paint, and plastic, no more than $50 total.

It is from the light novel/anime Sword Art Online.

Thanks! I can't wait until I have Asuna's sword taking shape. I already have 2 parts 3D printed and they look great.

I'm sure it will be just as awesome~ I'm always surprised at how light yours come out, since they always look like they'd be a lot heavier. And they are really sturdy, too! I'll be attempting my hand at Lyfa's sword next year (no more cosplay this year, I've made too many already!). I'll prolly get stuck making Sinon's bow (when her avatar finally gets into ALO, lol) for my older sister next year, too. I don't know how you do all these props XD

I don't know how I find the time either lol. Poplar is probably the best wood to use for swords. It is pretty light and durable and isn't too hard to cut/shape.

Lol, probably the same way I do stuff...obviously change the rotation of the earth so we have more time in the day!

Poplar, hm? I'll remember that! I learn so much from you~
