Description A pic of all 3 Sword Art Online swords; The Elucidator, The Dark Repulser, and The Lambent Light

Credit for the Lambent Light model I used goes to

I will have a picture in the near future with all of the swords with their scabbards as well. Right now only Lambent Light's scabbard is complete.

Be sure to checkout my website Soynuts Props for my build guides. They also contain the sketchup files for the Elucidator and Dark Repulser I created and used to 3D print some of the parts.

Wood and plastic. My website has a full guide on what I used.

Just wondering, how long are the swords? Also, is it possible to unsheathe these swords when you're carrying them on your back?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Soynuts In reply to fidyyuan [2013-01-09 06:00:42 +0000 UTC]

They are about 40-42 inches long each. The swords should be unsheathable when carrying, though I have not yet completed the sheaths so I can't try it. I am in the final steps.

if you havent finished the sheats yet, i've discovered that the type of sheats kirito uses, those who carry swords in someone's back, are a kind of square tube... but one of the sides is cut down to 1/4 of the length, so that the sword can be pulled out easily. what im saying is... near the tip of the blade, they are like [], but near its grip, they become U, with the upper side cut short. this allows you to both stock them and take them out easily.

I had finished them, but that is good to know about the slits down the side. I will have to keep that in mind for the future, thanks!

ur welcome. allways glad to help. btw, are those swords very hard to do? do they require really specialised techniques and tools, or just lots of time and patiente? i allways considered carving some, but i never really knew how...

Soynuts In reply to WAR-THERAPY [2013-05-22 03:00:25 +0000 UTC]

It is possible with minimal tools if you have the time. Power tools do help with speed and accuracy. I have a lot of power tools and a 3D printer on hand, so I am able to a lot of things easier and more accurately.

WAR-THERAPY In reply to Soynuts [2013-05-22 20:37:10 +0000 UTC]

define "minimal". a scizlle? a pocket knife? a saw? a few nails?

Soynuts In reply to WAR-THERAPY [2013-05-22 22:23:06 +0000 UTC]

I've seen swords done by people with just a saw and files. It of course takes a long time to file down the blade edges.

Soynuts In reply to kasuraiome [2012-12-25 05:39:45 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! The blades are poplar wood. Some parts are ABS plastic (3D printed) and others are cast with Smooth Cast 320 plastic.
