I've been messing around with the idea of a society where genetic modification is commonly known, widely accepted, and a more obvious part of the daily lifestyle beyond your pea soup dinner.
The main goal in this futuristic society would be to create an invincible force for defense, war, and law enforcement to reduce the loss of human life on the streets and battlefield. What better to use than a rodent?
These rodents are a nice mix of jerboa, gerbil, rat, and human genes, making them quick, efficient, athletic, and intelligent. Not the one above, of course; the rodent was a failure for all purposes other than in domestic settings, factory lines, or at checkout lines. At least, so far...
Let's see where this goes
I used textures from my own photos, Photoshop Elements 6, and a Bamboo Fun tablet

What if they steal your food? Or shiny things?
I imagine these things would get caught in mouse traps all the time, even if they're much bigger than any mouse. Peanut butter is quite tempting XD

No; and they don't have genders either, so they're incapable of multiplying by themselves. I mean, imagine having a hoard of 30-pound rats running around your basement! D:
